I Think This is How Apple iPhone 6 Is Really Going To Look : Do You Like Its Design?

Under the leadership of Steve Jobs, secrecy - along with innovation - was of topmost importance to Apple. Unreleased products - including dummies - remain under wraps, unseen, until they get officially unveiled by the CEO. Remember when the police raided the house of Jason Chen following the iPhone 4 leak back in 2010? Apple was that strict about secrecy then.

Staring at these purported Apple iPhone 6 dummy photos posted by Taiwanese race car driver and celebrity Jimmy Lin on his Weibo account, it's hard not to get the impression that the Cupertino company has already relaxed its rules about keeping yet-to-be-launched devices hidden from the public.

Jimmy also pulled off the same feat last year when he posted in the flesh photos of the Apple iPhone 5s way ahead of everyone else, weeks before it was formally introduced by current Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Based on Jimmy's track record and the fact that these images are pretty much consistent with earlier photos of an Apple iPhone 6 dummy posted by TechnoBuffalo, I'm inclined to believe that this design could very well be it.

I agree with one Apple fan on the site who said, "I think these leaks are getting more and more consistent, which means one thing: The design we are seeing right now is very close to the design we will see at launch, just with a few more refinements."

If this photo were to be believed, Apple iPhone 6 - replete with metal back plate that gently curves down the sides - will be considerably thinner than its predecessor.

Looking at the phone from this angle, it's obvious that its design language is greatly reminiscent of that of the Apple iPad Air and Apple iPad Mini -- albeit with distinguishing bands or lines on either tip.

Like what I said on the title of this post, I really think this is how the actual Apple iPhone 6 is going to look. To tell you frankly, I'm not all that impressed. For me, the best iPhone design thus far is that of iPhone 4 and 4S with elegant glass-metal-glass sandwich construction -- and I was wishing that Apple would bring that back on the iPhone 6.

I think this design is not as head-turning and is hardly as luxurious. But that's just me; How about you? Do you like the purported final look of Apple iPhone 6 shown in these photos?

Update as of August 24, 2014: China Telecom - it would appear - had 'prematurely' uploaded a photo of the Apple iPhone 6 on its official Weibo account. The post had been quickly taken down but the minute delay was more than enough a time for some Apple fans to take a screengrab of the entry and to share it on other social networking sites.

Apple is expected to announce the much-awaited refresh to its smartphone line this coming September or October. Already being called iPhone 6 by Apple fans, the upcoming flagship handset is believed to come with a faster Apple A8 processor, a larger 4.7 inch Full HD Retina Display (along with a 5.5-inch phablet variant), improved imaging capabilities, a fingerprint sensor like that of iPhone 5s but with enhanced features, and the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system.
