Starmobile Quest Price Php 6,590, Complete Specs, Key Features, Release Date
Competition among local handset companies is currently very tight in the midrange category. MyPhone had a runaway winner with Php 4,999 MyPhone Agua Rio last month - and it remains to be one of the best-selling handsets in Pinas as of today - while Php 5,999 Cherry Mobile Omega Aeon is slowly climbing the charts in terms of sales.
I'm sure Happy Man Philippines - maker of Starmobile smartphones - is hoping that its freshly announced Starmobile Quest mid-level release would experience the same level of success as its main competitors. It won't be easy but if you ask me, considering its gamut of additional selling points, I really think this phone could very well become another winner for the brand.
Priced at Php 6,590 and sporting a 4.5-inch qHD 540 x 960 pixels IPS OGS display panel, Starmobile Quest runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system sans custom skin with a very capable Quad Core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A7 and Adreno 302 based Qualcomm MSM8212 Snapdragon 200 chipset. The handset - powered by a 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack - handles multitasking with 1 GB of RAM and has 4 GB of ROM that you can beef up using the microSD card slot. And if you wondering, yes, you can easily transfer apps to the SD card without having to root the device.
Admittedly, Starmobile Quest is a tad more expensive than some devices out in the market with similar technical specifications like Cherry Mobile Omega Aeon. For me, though, the price difference is acceptable if only because of Quest's enhanced imaging capabilities headlined by its 5 MegaPixel front cam with Toshiba Sensor for selfies and the 13 MegaPixel camera with LED flash, Sony Sensor, and large f2.0 aperture, which boosts its indoor and low-light performance.
If you love taking photos - both of yourself and of other subjects - using a phone with a clear and crisp display and a rather powerful chipset, then I would suggest that you check out this release and give it a test run in a Starmobile Concept Store near you. Starmobile Quest is out now nationwide and it's available in three colors, namely, White, Black, and Red.

With Quest's Noise Cancellation technology, callers will hear you clearly even if you're in the middle of a party or while you're on a noisy sidewalk waiting for a jeepney. No need to shout!
