MyPhone Agua Infinity Lite Price Php 7,999, Specs, Features : Cheapest Octa Core Smartphone from MyPhone So Far
Apart from officially releasing the cute entry-level Rio Craze handset, Pinoy electronics brand MyPhone also took the opportunity to unveil its most affordable Octa Core Android smartphone yet at yesterday's community event at Market Market in Taguig City.
With SRP of only Php 7,999 and currently being promoted by Tom Rodriguez of My Husband's Lover fame, MyPhone Infinity Lite is a watered-version of the company's early 2014 flagship best-seller, the MyPhone Agua Infinity -- from the design right down to the innards. Nonetheless, aside from its very pocket-friendly price, it has a few software features that make it quite an interesting release.
Whereas the 2014 top-of-the-line regular Infinity is powered by a Octa Core 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPU and 700 MHz Mali 450 MP4 GPU based MediaTek MT6592 SoC, handles multitasking with 2GB of RAM and has 16 GB of non-expandable internal storage, MyPhone Agua Rio Lite merely comes replete with a slightly less powerful 1.4 GHz GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPU and 700 MHz Mali 450 MP4 GPU based MediaTek MT6592M chipset, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of internal storage that's expandable via the phone's microSD card slot.
Also, compared to the glass-and-metal-clad flagship Infinity that features a 5-inch Full HD IPS OGS display, 16 MegaPixel autofocus main camera, 8 MegaPixel front cam, and a 2,350 mAh Li-Ion battery pack, the Lite variant comes with a 4.7-inch HD IPS screen, an 8 MegaPixel autofocus main shooter, 5 MP front cam, and but a 2,000 mAh Li-Ion pack. Note, however, that the regular Infinity comes with a rather hefty Php 12,999 price tag so there's a considerable Php 5,000 difference between the two devices' SRP.
But if there's any department where the Lite version is better than its more expensive sibling, it would have to be in terms of software. The fresher release runs Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box and also features MyPhone's new touch control innovations like double tap to turn on and turn off the display and gesture recognition allowing you to swipe characters on the standby mode screen to launch applications. Hmm, I think we've already seen those before from another local handset brand.
But anyway, MyPhone Agua Infinity Lite is now available at all MyPhone Concept Stores, Kiosks, the brand's authorized retail partners as well as at Kimstore, my trusted online store.
Are you also planning to get this handset? I haven't played with an Android smartphone running on this new MT6592M chipset so I'm quite excited; I think this SoC has largely the same architecture as MT6592 but simply has a lower CPU clockspeed so it should be good enough. Overall, given the phone's low Php 7,999 price and all the features that it comes with, I think Dual SIM Dual Standby MyPhone Agua Infinity Lite should be a good purchase for anyone looking for budget-friendly yet moderately powerful handset.
