Sony Xperia C3 Selfie Phone Has Front-Facing LED Flash
Being the biggest and most lucrative market for smartphones and tablets in the whole of Asia Pacific, the Philippines is home to highly innovative mobile devices not just from international players but also from our local electronics companies.
For instance, last year, Happy Man Philippines released the Starmobile Muse "selfie" phone - the very first smartphone in the world to have an LED flash for its 8 MegaPixel wide-angle front facing cam -- allowing users to take clear and crisp selfies even in little to zero lighting conditions. And as a follow-up to that, in March 2014, the company announced Starmobile Octa the first flagship-level True Octa Core Android smartphone with the same set of imaging features and capabilities.
So when I saw these leaked photos of the upcoming Sony Xperia C3 with front-facing LED flash, I thought it's nothing new as Pinoys have had something like it for months now.
Nevertheless, I do think it's nice that users in other parts of the world - especially those who love taking self photos - will be able to experience the benefits of that front camera feature. No more looking for a bright area in the room or going outdoors for natural light before your can take a selfie or groufie with your friends -- just turn on the front flash and you're good to go.
So far, apart from the above-mentioned distinguishing feature as well as these images, we know very little about Sony Xperia C3 -- not even its official price and exact release date. Some insiders are saying, though, that the handset will sport a 5-inch HD display, a 5 MegaPixel front-facing camera, and a 2,500 mAh Li-Ion battery pack. In the photo above, we can also see that the phone also appears to have a selfie-photo-editing software or application letting you create a collage, crop, and add filters to your images.
I think you all know by now that I love taking selfies -- so of course, like most of you, I'm greatly looking forward to seeing this handset in the flesh and playing with its front cam. I'm also a big Sony fan - I've had both Sony Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z2 as my daily phones and they are amazing - and I'm hoping that the Xperia C3 would land in our country before the year ends with a midrange price tag that everyone can afford. And that said, how much do you think Sony should price this cool selfie phone, TP Friends?
