Xiaomi Mi3 Lazada Sale Second Serving Will Start at 11AM Tomorrow, July 4, 2014
Xiaomi represents disruption. And apparently, it's not just disruption in terms of the pricing, quality, and distribution of devices but also disruption in the way that a company's management deals with tech bloggers, members of the media, and fans online.
Last night, Hugo Barra himself sent me an email containing updates about the Xiaomi Mi3 Lazada Sale held last June 26, 2014.
As some of you may know, I've already met quite a few tech company CEOs, Presidents, and VPs - and I'll always be grateful for those wonderful opportunities - but it's not everyday that I get a personal note straight from the Vice President of a global company like Xiaomi so I must admit, I got excited when I saw Hugo's name on my inbox.
Like what Hugo said, due to insistent public demand, Xiaomi will be having the second serving of the Xiaomi Mi3 Lazada Sale tomorrow, which will start at 11 in the morning. Our first sale started at 12pm last Thursday (June 26) and, by the weekend, 70% of orders had been delivered
About 25% of the orders were delivered on the same day, even though various parts of Metro Manila were flooded on that day. Big kudos to Lazada! See attached some of the comments from Mi Fans on our Facebook page about their experience.
Mi Fans were excited to get their Mi 3's and some of them sent us photos as they got their packages.
As a special gesture from our team, the first 100 orders included a thank-you card personally signed by me and Xiaomi co-founder Bin Lin.
Lazada's first delivery person hit the streets not long after the first orders were received, and even took a photo with the first Mi Fan to receive the Mi 3 — Avon. I wish the photo was taken using a Mi 3, but the very first one is still in that bubble wrap in Avon's hands :)
After the sale, our Mi Fans gave us feedback that the time of the sale was not ideal for everyone. So we did a poll on our Facebook page yesterday asking for everyone’s opinions and decided that our next sale will start a little earlier this Friday, at 11am. We’ll have 2,000 units of the Mi 3 available.
