Xiaomi Mi4 Philippines Price Will Start At Around Php 14,000! In The Flesh Photos of the 2014 Flagship, Out!
I've just asked our friends from Xiaomi Philippines just when Filipinos can expect to see and purchase the company's 2014 flagship, Xiaomi Mi4, on their local online store. They didn't give any word on the exact release date - as they're still planning it - but they did share the projected SRP of the two variants of the handset.
Like what was posted on Mi Philippines' official Facebook page yesterday, Xiaomi Mi4 16GB version will most likely sell for only Php 14,000 while the 64GB will go for roughly Php 17,500. At those amounts and considering the device's design, construction, and set of technical specifications, I think Mi-4 is already a steal.
Unveiled by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun via a media in Beijing, China, Xiaomi Mi4 - in stark contrast to its predecessor which had a mere plastic shell - flaunts a full metal frame crafted using a process similar to what Apple employs on its aluminum-clad smartphones.
As I've shared in my previous Mi4 post, apart from having a more luxurious build, Xiaomi Mi4's technical specifications and features represent a considerable upgrade from last year's flagship. Xiaomi Mi4 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system - heavily-skinned by the latest version of the Chinese company's MIUI interface which allows users to make lots of customization and swaps Android's default app-tray for an app-laden home screen reminiscent of Apple's iOS. The handset is powered by a Quad Core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU based Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, handles multitasking with 3GB of RAM, and has 16GB and 64GB internal storage options.
In terms of features, LTE-enabled Mi4 sports a 5-inch 1080p IPS display with very high colour gamut, a 13 MegaPixel rear camera with f1.8 aperture, Sony IMX214 lens and real-time HDR, 4K video recording, 8 MegaPixel front camera with f1.8 aperture, 80-degree wide angle Sony IMX219 lens, and non-removable 3,080 mAh Li-Ion internal battery with quick charging feature at 9V/1.2A or 5V/2A.
Although having a metal frame, Xiaomi Mi4's back plate is made of plastic and is user-replaceable. And along with the release of the phone, the Chinese company will also make these covers available to consumers so they can change the look of the device to match their outfits or simply their moods.
So what do you think about Xiaomi Mi4, TP Friends? Do you like it? Are you going to purchase a unit when it becomes available in Pinas later this year? Let me know your thoughts below.
