Xiaomi Mi4 Price, Complete Specs and Features, Officially Unveiled! Full Metal Frame, Confirmed!
Today - July 22, 2014 - at around 12 noon in Manila, the young yet disruptive electronics company, Xiaomi Inc., held an exclusive media event in Beijing, China to unveil its latest flagship smartphone, which is set to officially supersede its best-selling Xiaomi Mi3.
After months of rumors, leaks, and even misleading official updates, the elegant Xiaomi Mi4 has formally been announced - and its full metal frame, confirmed - via a well-received keynote by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, who donned his familiar plain blue jeans and trainers while on onstage.
The billionaire CEO also presented a video showing the metal-crafting process involved in the construction of Xiaomi's 2014 top-of-the-line release, which is - interestingly enough - largely similar to that of Apple's aluminum-clad smartphones.
Apart from having a more luxurious body or frame, Xiaomi Mi4's technical specifications and features represent a considerable if not tremendous upgrade from last year's flagship.
Xiaomi Mi4 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system - heavily-skinned by the latest version of the Chinese company's MIUI interface which allows users to make lots of customization and swaps Android's default app-tray for an app-laden home screen reminiscent of Apple's iOS. The handset is powered by a Quad Core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU based Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, handles multitasking with 3GB of RAM, and has 16GB and 64GB internal storage options.
Features-wise, the smartphone sports a 5-inch 1080p IPS display with very high colour gamut (84% of NTSC range), a 13 MegaPixel rear camera with f1.8 aperture, Sony IMX214 lens and real-time HDR, 4K video recording, 8 MegaPixel front camera with f1.8 aperture, 80-degree wide angle Sony IMX219 lens, and non-removable 3,080 mAh Li-Ion internal battery with quick charging feature at 9V/1.2A or 5V/2A.
Xiaomi Mi4 will only be available in select countries in the Asia Pacific region, namely, China, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and India -- until further notice by the company. No word yet on its exact release date in Pinas but, as for its local SRP - according to Xiaomi Philippines - we can expect the 16GB version to go for just Php 14,000 and the 64GB for Php 17,500.

Based on Xiaomi's market research, Display, Camera, and 4G LTE connectivity are the top considerations by mobile consumers when making a smartphone purchase.
