Meizu MX3 Philippines Price, Full Specs, Unboxing, Flyme 3.0 Demo
Like what I shared in my blog post last Saturday - June 16, 2014, Chinese electronics company Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. is already set to enter the Philippines via Novo7Tech and their smartphones will be up for purchase locally sometime within September 2014.
The first smartphone model that the Guandong-based electronics giant will be bringing here - exclusively through Novo7Tech - is their 2013 flagship release, the Meizu MX3.
"Mark, we'll do our best to offer top caliber Meizu handsets to Pinoys at prices they can afford. This one, for example, is going to have an official suggested retail price of less than Php 13,000," Mr. Adrian Lim, Novo7Tech's IT Director, told me while handing me the first Meizu MX3 unit that they were able to secure in their headquarters in Manila.
As soon as I held the smartphone, I was instantly impressed by how solid and premium it feels in the hand. "I like the tapered sides; It makes the MX3 look thinner than it actually is. Also, Sir Adrian, the stainless steel accent running down the sides makes the phone look elegant and gives it an air of durability. And the plastic back plate feels as if it's ceramic," I said as I was playing with the cool device.
In terms of features, the MX3 sports a 5.1 inch 1080 x 1800 pixels IPS-NEO OGS screen (by Japan Display Inc.) underneath scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3 touchscreen, an 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and Sony Lens, a 2 MegaPixel front cam with wide-angle lens, Full HD video recorder, NFC and USB On-The-Go support, and a non-removable 2,400 mAh Li-Ion battery pack.
Under the hood, the smartphone runs its Android 4.2 Jelly Bean based Flyme OS with an Exynos 5 Octa 5410 chipset, handles multitasking with 2 GB of RAM, and has 16 GB of non-expandable internal storage. "We'll also release a 32GB version," shared Sir Adrian.
Alright! Let's do a quick unboxing!
That's it? No earphones? Well, yeah. I think Meizu didn't include one to keep the price of the product down. If you ask me, though, I think they should have made the box smaller and less ornate and used the savings on the packaging to add a pair of headphones -- even if it's just a generic type.

"As you can see, Mark, the handset looks great. But, for me, the coolest thing about any smartphone by Meizu is its Flyme OS. Basically, Flyme is a skin or experience for Android - like TouchWiz by Samsung - that's unique to Meizu handsets. And what's special about it is that it's very simple and easy to use but it's also very intuitive and feature-packed," shared Sir Adrian.

Alright! Let's do a quick unboxing!
Meizu MX3 comes with this rather big and bulky packaging made of white carton.
The CE Marking at the bottom of the box is proof that Meizu MX3 complies with European product directives and essential requirements in terms of health, safety and environmental protection.
Lifting the cover, I was greeted by the travel charger with 2 round prongs and this booklet showing me the key features and selling points of the handset.
I found the presentation - replete with nice photos - quite cute so I read the whole thing.
A hole on the last page of the booklet serving as tray for the Meizu MX3. Now, let's check out the other stuff inside the package.
The User Manual and Safe Guide bundle
The "pick", which you'll need to pull out and pry open the plastic back plate of the phone.
The microUSB to USB cable for connecting the MX3 to your computer and also, for charging it.
I think the retail package for Pinas will include a travel charger with two-rounded prongs -- so you'd need an adapter with two flat prongs to be able to plug it to our electrical outlets.

Of course, we didn't forget to do our unforgiving scratch test! I mean, it's already a TechPinas-Novo7Tech Tradition -- but this time, we went a level higher and did it using a Damascus Blade!
