Nokia X2 Philippines Price Php 6,990, Full Specs, Features, Out Now
Great news for all die-hard Nokia fans who've long been waiting for this cute Android smartphone to land here; Nokia X2 is now officially available at all Nokia stores nationwide!
The SRP is a bit higher than our price guesstimate a few months back -- but hey, it's here and I'm sure a lot of you won't mind paying Php 6,990 if only to own what could be Microsoft handset division's very last smartphone to run on Google's mobile operating system.
As some of you may already know, Microsoft has formally terminated Nokia's experimental Android Project, which was started prior to the Redmond Giant's acquisition of the Finnish company's mobile devices business. Both the best-selling Nokia X and Nokia XL along with Nokia X2 were the fruits of the said defunct venture.
Today, Microsoft Devices Group announced that the Nokia X2, the newest addition to the Nokia X family of affordable smartphones, is now available for purchase in the Philippines. The Nokia X2 delivers upgraded specifications, more popular Microsoft services and a smoother, easier user experience at an affordable price.
“The Nokia X2 was designed to help the next billion people connect to the mobile Internet and cloud services, affordably,” said Mr. Karel Holub, Microsoft Mobile Devices Sales General Manager for the Philippines. “Following on the fantastic reception to the Nokia X family in the Philippines, we’re pleased to offer the next, evolutionary step in the line-up with the stunningly designed and affordable Nokia X2.”
Dual SIM Dual Standby Nokia X2 boasts enhanced features, including a larger 4.3-inch WVGA IPS ClearBlack display, an audio-guided 5 MegaPixel rear-facing autofocus camera with LED flash, as well as a front-facing VGA camera – perfect for taking selfies, and an HD video recorder. The smartphone also benefits from the Dual Core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPU and Adreno 302 GPU based Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor that's complemented by 1GB of RAM to make switching between favorite apps even more fluid.
Out of the box, people can enjoy Microsoft services like Outlook.com, Skype and 15GB of free OneDrive cloud storage (another 3GB will be added when they activate camera roll backup and an additional 5 GB will be added further when users refer 10 friends (500 MB each) – a total of 23GB), while new apps like OneNote and Yammer are now available to download for free from the Nokia Store.
The Nokia X2’s seamless monobody and exchangeable back covers with the ‘inner glow’ design beautifully complement major enhancements to the user interface. These include a new ‘home’ button and a choice of screens to make navigation a breeze:
