Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos Dual SIM Dual Standby Version, Now Available in the Philippines
The supposedly China-only Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos or the Dual SIM variant of the Korean Giant's 2014 flagship smartphone is now out for purchase in the Philippines via Kimstore, my trusted online store.
"A lot of my loyal buyers are requesting for the SGS5 Dual SIM version so we did our best to bring the device here. At Kimstore, we go to great lengths to cater to what our consumers want," my friend Kim Lato - who will be featured in the August 2014 issue of UNO Magazine as one of Pinas' new breed of young and successful female entrepreneurs - told me in one of our conversations over the phone.
For those who are wondering, Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos has the exact same design identity, features, and technical specifications of the regular Samsung Galaxy S5. You get the same bedimpled back cover, 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 16 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and ISOCELL sensor, Heart Rate monitor, Finger Scanner, 2,800 mAh battery pack, and Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset, among other SGS5 specs previously covered on TechPinas.
But what makes SGS5 Duos special is that it has two microSIM slots allowing you to stay connected on two networks at the same time -- so you won't have to carry a secondary phone to receive calls and text messages on your other number. Although the second SIM slot doesn't support 3G and 4G LTE mobile connectivity and both slots aren't hot swappable as you'd have to remove the battery before you can change SIM cards, this feature - along with the TouchWiz SIM Management interface - should still be very attractive to a lot of Pinoy consumers as many of us actually keep multiple phone numbers.
Priced at Php 27,300 at Kimstore as of today, Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos could very well be the most expensive Dual SIM handset in the country currently. But really, considering that it's the same 2014 best-selling flagship smartphone by the Korean electronics company with that additional functionality, I think it's still very sulit.
