THL 5000 Specs, Features: 5-inch Octa Core Smartphone with 5,000 mAh Battery
From the looks of it, THL 5000 could very well be one of the smartphones to beat come the latter part of this year -- especially during the holiday gadget shopping season.
Earlier this year, Novo7Tech - the official and exclusive distributor of THL smartphones in the Philippines - had best sellers in both THL T100s MonkeyKing2 and THL T200 Cyborg, which were both introduced and launched in the country via TechPinas. Remember those stellar Octa Core releases, TP Friends?
Since the release of those two models, Novo7Tech has been able to open even more stores across the country to better serve Pinoys and has unveiled its new headquarters located Pearl of the Orient Tower in Metro Manila.
Needless to say, I feel happy and blessed to have been part of their journey towards the success that they are now enjoying.
With their upcoming THL 5000, the Novo7Tech Team is hoping to cement their reputation as the 'Octa Core Authority' (in the minds of its thousands of fans) at least for this entire 2014. And given the phone's top-notch features and technical specifications, I believe THL 5000 could really make the group's aspirations come true.
Flaunting a 5-inch Full HD IPS OGS display, an 13 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and Sony IMX135 sensor, a 5 MegaPixel front cam with wide-angle lens, NFC and USB On-The-Go support, and a Full HD 30fps video recorder, Dual SIM Dual Standby THL 5000 sports a ginormous 5,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack, which was made to deliver a staggering 1,000 hours of Standby, 125 hours of Music Play, and 11 hours of web browsing. Talk about not having to charge the handset in the middle of the day while in you're office. And yes, with this phone, you can finally leave your heavy powerbank at home.
For me, the above-mentioned specifications are already totally impressive -- but I think it's what's inside THL 5000's shell that will really win your heart. The device runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system (right out of the box) with its 2 GHz Octa Core ARM Cortex A7 and Mali-450 GPU based 'improved' MediaTek MT6592 chipset (which some are already calling "2nd Generation MT6592 Turbo"). This SoC is complemented by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage that's expandable via the handset's microSD card slot supporting up to 32 GB. I was told that the combination of these innards give THL 5000 an Antutu Benchmark Score in the area of 29,000 to 30,000; That, I have to confirm when I finally get my unit next month -- or maybe sooner.
So when exactly is it arriving in the Philippines and how much will it cost? Our friends from Novo7Tech told me in our meeting last week that THL 5000 should become available in their stores within September 2014. They didn't give me an exact date but I believe it should be sometime during the first two weeks. As for the official suggested retail price, they said, "Definitely less than Php 13,000; Maybe, a lot less."
