LG G3 Unboxing Philippines : Packaging Design, Accessories, and Peripherals Check
I was working on my LG G3 Full Review earlier when I realized that the whole Unboxing Section just takes up too much space in the article -- so I thought maybe I should simply pull it out and dedicate a whole separate post to it. And that's the story behind this entry.
We're greeted by the gorgeous flagship smartphone. Obviously, I have mine in White. You see, I instantly fell in love with the White variant when I first saw the press photos. So for this release, it was either just Shine Gold or Silk White for me.
On to the smartphone itself!
LG G3 flaunts a unique and beautiful design language, which the Korean company calls 'The Floating Arc'.
According to LG, "The Floating Arc design of the G3 with its ergonomic arch and slim side profile provides an extremely comfortable grip for everyday one-handed use. The Rear Key continues to anchor LG’s innovative design language, with a newly designed power key and volume buttons as well as more premium quality materials and finish. LG also refined sophisticated technical features and advancements located on the rear by arranging them in a clean and singular layout consistent with the G3’s well-balanced design language."
"The stylish metallic skin with matte finish which keeps the G3 looking clean and fingerprint-free will be offered in three vibrant colors [...] from launch: Metallic Black, Silk White, and Shine Gold. To complement the new external design, LG adopted a minimalistic user interface design with flat graphics. The circular motif of the graphic assets in the new UI was derived from the shape and concept of LG’s logo, reflecting its unique visual style and identity," they added.
The Rear Key remains to be one of the defining features of LG's flagship smartphones. First introduced on the best-selling 2013 TechPinas Badge of Excellence Awardee LG G2, 'the Rear Key is literally the only button of the device, positioned at the back. This button enables the user to switch the power on and off, activate QuickMemo, and use the camera. Based on a consumer behavior study conducted by LG’s R&D group, the Rear Key gives users more control and easier access since this is where their index fingers are naturally located. This also results in fewer dropped phones when adjusting the volume while talking.' The design of this button on the LG G3 saw vast improvement as it is now made of real metal as opposed to merely chrome-plated plastic -- like what we saw on last year's flagship.
Available in a variety of hues, the QuickCircle Case (either from LG itself or Voia) allows quick access to frequently used applicatons and functions like calling, text messaging, music and camera all from the circular window -- even without opening the cover. And it doesn't hurt that you also get several handsome virtual watch designs.
That's it for now, TP Friends! Stay tuned for my full review where I'll show you LG G3's brilliant and massive 5.5-inch Quad HD screen as well as sample photos taken using the handset, sample video recordings, the device's Antutu Benchmark Score, its battery usage statistics, and key software enhancements, among others!
My 16 GB LG G3 retail package came with a free QuickCircle Case by Voia
As I've shared, LG G3 is the Korean company's 2014 flagship smartphone and as such, it comes with the very best design, technical specifications, and features that LG could have given a phone up until this point. I believe the device's golden box instantly gives the impression that what's inside it is a top-of-the-line release with top-notch capabilities.
Right Side View: From this angle, you'll see that the external case is designed in such a way it doesn't completely cover the 'copper brown' internal carton, which - I think - made the package look more interesting.
Top View: LG "Life's Good"
The company had printed some of the handset's key technical specifications at the bottom of the packaging so buyers would immediately know what they're getting.
Some of the specs highlights include the 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS Display protected by scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3 touchscreen, Snapdragon 801 chipset which also powers Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z3, 13 MegaPixel camera with Laser Autofocus, LG's new Optical Image Stabilization technology and Dual Flash, and a removable 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack.
Alright! Now, let's lift the cover!

Taking the phone out of its 'cradle', we see the Knock Code graphic. As I've explained earlier, Knock Code is one of LG G3's unique security features allowing the owner to unlock his or her device using a pattern of pre-configured taps on the inactive screen.
Let's check out all the accessories that join LG G3 inside its golden box.
We have travel charger (1.8A output), the 3,000 mAh batter pack, QuadBeat2 earphones with extra silicon buds, microUSB to USB connector cable, LG Mobile Warranty Card, and LG G3 Quick Start Guide.
Better than your regular run-of-the-mill smartphone earphones, LG QuadBeat 2 in-ear headphones deliver deeper basses and clear and crisp peak sounds. You get extra two pairs of silicon buds -- large and small.
If you have time, read the quick start guide. If you don't, it's alright; You'll do just fine. The phone may have totally amazing, industry-leading features but it's also very easy to use; No need to read a manual, if you ask me.
LG G3 comes with 1 year parts and service warranty.

Quoting myself in a previous LG G3 post, "Some design elements of the LG G3 are totally fresh - like the plastic back cover with brushed finish making it look like real metal and even the case with circular window that we really haven't seen before."

Voia's Quick Circle is almost the same as the ones made by LG
The main difference is that you won't see this glossy plastic lining at back of LG's own case; The entire rear is textured. Check out what LG QuickCircle Case looks like in the flesh via our LG G3 Philippine Launch post.
