ZTE Philippines Opens First Concept Store, Gets James Yap as Celebrity Endorser
If Gionee has Ellen Adarna and Huawei has Jasmine Curtis, then ZTE has James Yap. Yup, giant handset maker ZTE - in partnership with its exclusive local distributor MSI-ECS - has gone the way of its Chinese rivals and has opted to have its very own Pinoy celebrity ambassador and endorser to help them promote their products in the country.
Asked why they picked the multiple PBA MVP awardee to fill in such an important role, ZTE reps said that it's because James Yap represents or embodies the key qualities of the brand, including top-notch quality and strong performance. Fair enough!
And to be honest, I think they made a great choice because I don't know any Pinoy who doesn't know who James Yap is. I mean, he's a great basketball player -- and he was the ex-husband of no less than Kris Aquino; That must count for something.
Anyway, on top of now having a celebrity endorser, ZTE Philippines has also opened its very first concept store in the country -- proving that they're totally serious about building a strong business here and giving the top dogs in the mobile industry a run for their money.
Formally opened last September 15, 2014, ZTE's first ever concept store in the Philippines, located at the third floor of GMall in Davao City, will feature the companys’s full set of products to provide Filipino consumers with a wide choice of innovative and feature-rich devices, ranging from entry level to high-end smartphones and portable wi-fi devices.
As the first of many ZTE concept stores to come, it will showcase the complete line-up of ZTE mobility products -- ranging from smartphones like KIS FLEX, KIS III, KIS FLEX II, BLADE G Pro, BLADE E, BLADE C, GRAND X, GRAND X2, GRAND X QUAD and GRAND X2L to pocket WiFi devices including MF 70, MF 63, MF65, and the 4G/LTE capable MF 90 and MF 93 D. And in line with the opening of their flagship outlet in Mindanao, ZTE Mobile will likewise roll out its nationwide promo where customers get a limited edition basketball with James Yap's signature for every purchase of any ZTE smartphone or device from September 15 to October 15 2014.
ZTE is one of the world’s largest mobile handset and smartphone manufacturers and is a recognized partner in the telecommunications industry. Globally, it has strong alliances with telecomm operators like Sprint, AT&T, Aircel, Orange, Verizon, China Telecom and Softbank, just to name a few.
