When I visited Gionee's newly opened store in SM Megamall last week, I saw this informative poster on one of the walls showing where Gionee - as a handset brand - is available around the world.
I'm sharing it here now because it pretty much answers this inquiry that I got from TP Friend Oreo Pontejos on Twitter last night -- and I'm sure it also addresses a few questions lingering in your mind as to where Gionee exactly came from as well as the breadth and reach of their business.
Founded in 2002 and with headquarters in Shenzhen, China, Gionee Communication Equipment Co. Ltd. is currently holding business in thirty five countries scattered across five continents, including the Indian sub-continent. The company also has two processing plants and a facility dedicated to research and development for future devices.
