Huawei Mate7 Price in the Philippines and Availability, Officially Announced! Plus, In the Flesh Photos and Antutu Benchmark Score!
Chinese electronics giant, Huawei, has just officially launched its newest flagship phablet - the Huawei Ascend Mate7 - here in the Philippines. So for those who've long been waiting for this amazing release, now is your chance to get it.
The highlight of the program was the introduction of the Mate7's seven key features or main selling points, which the company was able to do both via a game for dealers and members of the media before the event started and through this engaging keynote presented by Mr. Al Dimapilis, Marketing Manager of Huawei Device Philippines:
According to Huawei, "Launched at Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) 2014 in Berlin Germany, Huawei Mate7 is set to launch in the Philippines this [November 20, 2014]. Armed with more surprising high-end features at reasonable price, Huawei promised to delight Filipino consumers with its fastest and most compelling big-screen smartphone experience to date."
Equipped with a massive 6-inch Full HD IPS display panel underneath scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 3 touchscreen and powered by a large 4,100 Li-Po battery pack delivering up to 24 hours of uptime with mixed usage, the Ascend Mate 7 pushes the boundaries of how large a smartphone can be while delivering good imaging performance with its 13 MegaPixel main camera and 5 MP front cam, and providing stellar gaming and overall mobile experience with its powerhouse Octa Core HiSilicon Kirin 925 chipset incorporating four 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex A15 cores and four 1.3 GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPUs plus Mali-T628 GPU.
One of the unique features of this release can be found on its back panel. Huawei Mate7’s fingerprint sensor is the world’s fastest way to wake up your phone. It enables users to unlock the phablet at least 80% faster than devices supporting a slower finger-sweeping recognition option. Unlike the traditional swipe-style scanner on other smartphones, the Mate7 uses a more convenient one-touch fingerprint sensor, ergonomically located on a spot where index finger usually lands when holding the device.
Measuring 9.16 x 9.16 mm, this reader supports up to five different fingerprint records which can be allocated to normal and guest modes, letting the user switch modes to enhance protection when securing private folders, apps, and even payment information. It has a higher 508PPI ratio for enhanced accuracy so there's no need to swipe repeatedly before finally unlocking the device – even with wet fingers or under high humidity and light rain conditions. Mate7's ARM TrustZone software likewise stores encrypted data of the fingerprint just within the chipset for better protection by SecureOS, and prevents access by third-parties.
Huawei Ascend Mate7 runs Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with Emotion UI 3.0 skin. This app-drawer-free and sleek interface reminiscent of iOS and MIUI is created by Huawei to provide a simplified and supposedly more intuitive and enjoyable touch experience to consumers.
TP Friends, meet Sir Oliver, Sir Chris, and Sir Adrian (L-R) of Novo7Tech! They also graced Huawei's invitation for the Mate7 launch -- but they did so as dealers. Yep, apart from being the official distributor of THL, Zopo, and Meizu smartphones in the Philippines, Novo7Tech now also carries Huawei handsets and tablets. They're our friends so if you're thinking about getting a Huawei device anytime soon, I'd recommend that you purchase it from flagship Novo7Tech stores in Mega Manila.
The Huawei Mate7 variant that's available in the Philippines is the gorgeous Limited Edition Amber Gold version. The phablet dons an official suggested retail price of Php 27,890 and is now available at all Huawei Concept Stores and partner retailers nationwide.
