O+ 360 Price Php 6,395, Unboxing, Full Specs, Antutu Benchmark Score, Touch Sensitive Back Panel Explained
O+ 360 is not your typical, affordable 5-inch Quad Core Android smartphone. It has one key feature that really sets it apart from all other handsets in its price category; Its touch-sensitive back panel.
But before I talk about that, let's do a quick unboxing.
Fresh out of the box, the unit has this green screen protector showing you some of O+ 360's main technical specifications and features. This sticker also protects the device's display during shipment.
According to O+, "Change the way you touch the world... in one hand. Introducing the New O+ 360 Series. It has 360 Touch - a back to back touch technology that provides an easy one-hand phone browsing experience. Front or back? It's all up to you."
Looks wise, O+ 360 flaunts a rounded design identity highlighted by a matte back plate that slightly tapers down the sides, a protruding camera module, and real metal volume rocker and power button serving as subtle but effective accents.
I like the matte finish of the phone's back plate as it's not as much of a finger-print magnet as a glossy case. This finish also increases the 'traction' between my hand and phone when I'm holding it, which - I believe - should result in less chance of an accidental slippage.
In terms of specs, O+ 360 Touch is equipped with a 5-inch qHD IPS display that looks great regardless of the viewing angle, an 8 MegaPixel autofocus main camera with LED flash, a 5 MegaPixel front cam delivering very crisp selfies, Full HD video recorder, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, and 3G HSPA+ connectivity support.
Under the hood, the handset runs vanilla Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with slightly customized icons and incorporating O+ innovations with its 1.3 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 and Mali 400 GPU based MediaTek MT6582VW chipset. The phone handles multitasking with 1 GB of RAM and has 8 GB of built-in internal storage.
Combined, these innards give O+ 360 an Antutu 5.0 Benchmark Score in the area of 18,797. While we can't call this phone a powerhouse release, I'd say it's still very capable of delivering a smooth touch experience and relatively good 3D gaming experience.
It's design and specs are decent -- but as I've said, O+ 360's touch sensitive back panel is what makes it a true stand-out in its echelon. This area at the back where you see this graphic is actually a trackpad, which essentially allows you to make commands and navigate the phone's home screen as well as browse applications.
Lifting the back plate and inspecting what's underneath the 360 degrees graphic, we see the hardware that makes this seeming 'magic trick' possible. O+ placed a small trackpad in that area that processes and interprets touch gestures like swipes and taps.
Off hand, there are three things that you can do with this unique O+ innovation. First, you can assign an application to be launched automatically when you double tap on that area. Second, you can snap photos by placing your finger and lifting it when using the camera app. And third, you can browse through your home screens, app drawer panels as well as scroll up and down or sideways on the pages of supported applications like Facebook, Chrome, or Twitter, making it more convenient for you to use your phone with just one hand -- especially if your hands are rather small. Isn't that neat?
O+ 360 is now available at all O+ Concept Stores, Kiosks, and partner retailers across the archipelago. Its official suggested retail price is Php 6,395 and - I believe it's currently out in two colors - Black and Dark Blue. More about this cool smartphone on TechPinas soon, TP Friends -- so stay tuned!
But before I talk about that, let's do a quick unboxing.
The packaging of O+'s new 360 Touch series is unlike that of earlier releases by the company. It's a rather flat red box with a pull-out inner case.
At the bottom of the outer sleeve, you will find the phone's key specs and features.
Apart from the 360 Touch Technology, this unit also features some of O+'s innovations that I've explain earlier on TP like Peace to Selfie, Selfie Fix, Air Share, Air Shuffle, Doodle Control, Import/Export SMS, and Anti-Theft.
You can easily pull out the inner case using the looped cord.
O+ 360 lying in its cradle.
O+ boxed other items in the package individually.
The entire package. Let's check them out one by one.
The O+ Service Card, which guarantees after-sales support for your handset.
The 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack, delivering up to 360 Hours of Standby, 15 Hours of Talk, and 5 hours of web browsing.
If you have time to do so, read the User Manual.
The familiar O+ microUSB to USB connector cable
Headphones with extra in-ear silicone buds
Travel charger with folding flat prongs
O+ 360's storage is expandable and the company generously includes a free 4GB microSD card inside every pack.
O+ 360's glass touchscreen is not scratch-proof but you'd be glad to know that you're getting a free screen protector when you purchase the handset.

This back cover is removable, giving you access to the battery pack as well as the slots for the regular mini SIM, the microSIM, and the microSD card.
The device measures just 9.1 millimeters at its thickest point and weighs 138.3 grams. Obviously, it's hardly as thin nor as light as the O+ Air but - for me - it still looks and feels very sleek.
