Starmobile Engage 10 Pro Price is Php 11,990, Full Specs : Laptop and Tablet In One, Runs Windows 8.1
Local electronics company Happy Man Philippines - maker of Starmobile smartphones and tablets - has officially joined Cherry Mobile in the initial roster of local manufacturers that Microsoft Corporation has partnered with for the further promotion of its work-and-play-driven software and operating system here in the Philippines.
The freshly announced Starmobile Engage 10 Pro is the first product of this landmark alliance between Happy Man and the Redmond Giant.
A laptop and a tablet wrapped in one package, the Engage 10 Pro is powered by a fully-licensed version of Windows 8.1 OS and comes with a free 1-year subscription to Microsoft’s suite of productivity applications and services, Office 365.
"Starmobile is entering a new phase–not only are we offering our first 2-in-1 device, we are also entering into our first partnership with Microsoft," shared Mr. Ulysses Lao, President of Starmobile. He added, "This is an exciting endeavor and one that will definitely benefit Filipinos as we introduce a wider array of quality products at affordable prices."
On the other hand, Mr. Jerry Bongco, Consumer Channels Group Head of Microsoft Philippines said, "We are excited for the launch of Starmobile’s Windows tablet, the ENGAGE 10 Pro, as they take part in the growing Windows ecosystem."
Donning an official suggested retail price of Php 11,990 and hitting store shelves next month - March 2015, Starmobile Engage 10 Pro slate is equipped with a 10-inch HD IPS display, 5 MegaPixel main camera, 2 MegaPixel front cam, Full HD video recorder, and a 7,500 mAh battery pack delivering around 8 hours of uptime with mixed usage. Available ports include one each for microUSB, mini HDMI, and USB 2.0.
Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Atom Z3735F Baytrail-T processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, has 2 GB of RAM, and comes with 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded via the tablet's microSD card slot. As for connectivity, the hybrid supports both WiFi and Bluetooth.
The keyboard dock, which transforms this tablet into a full-fledged notebook, features chiclet-style keys and has a trackpad for increased productivity on the device. It even comes with an additional USB 2.0 port where you can plug in your mouse or your flash drive.
