Cherry Mobile Alpha Neon Price, Specs, Press Photos : Spotted at MWC 2015
Cherry Mobile Alpha Neon is the smaller and more affordable of the two new Windows Phone handsets that Cherry Mobile is currently showcasing at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona.
According to Microsoft Corporation, "We have worked with Philippine-based Cherry Mobile on their previous Windows Phones and we are glad to see their next generation of devices that includes the 5-inch Alpha Neon and 6-inch Alpha View devices announced during MWC. [...] It’s great to see the continued device innovation from our hardware partners across the Windows ecosystem. We continue to work closely with our hardware partners to design and build devices, across categories and price points that will take advantage of the new capabilities and experiences that Windows [...] will enable."
Available in in a number of youthful hues, namely, Yellow, Blue, Red, Green, and White, Cherry Mobile Alpha Neon comes with features and dons a price tag that should make it very attractive to young consumers who are thinking about finally getting their first Windows Phone handset.
Specs-wise, CM Alpha Neon is equipped with a 5-inch 720 x 1280 pixels HD IPS display panel, a 2,000 mAh Li-Ion removable battery pack, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, and 3G HSPA+ support. Under the hood, the smartphone runs Windows Phone 8.1 operating system with its 1.2 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 and Adreno 302 based Qualcomm Snapdragon 8212 chipset, handles multitasking with 1GB of RAM, a has 8 GB of internal storage that users can easily beef up using the device's microSD card slot.
Apart from their design language (Neon being more fun while View is a tad more corporate), the main difference between Cherry Mobile Alpha Neon and the Alpha View is practically just the size of their screen. View has a larger 6-inch display which is ideal for watching movies, reading e-books, or viewing photos while Neon has a 5-inch display which is more pixel-dense all while making the handset more pocket-friendly.
Currently being demoed at the Microsoft booth at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Cherry Mobile Alpha Neon will have an official price tag that's below Php 5,000. Neither CM nor the Redmond Giant has disclosed the exact amount but I'm guessing that should come in at around Php 4,000 to Php 4,500. Stay tuned for updates, TP Friends.
