Five Reasons To Still Buy an iPhone This Year, According to An Apple Fan
A smartphone has truly become a staple gadget for almost all of us nowadays -- and it's unbelievable how many people still choose to neglect doing their research before jumping into their next handset purchase. Many of my friends, for instance, still buy expensive flagship smartphones based solely on the devices' popularity among their workmates, only to feel bad about the pricey purchase after a few days.
The truth is, there are many amazing top-of-the-line handsets out in the market currently. But if you ask me, the iPhone still reigns supreme over them in many departments. To support that statement, I've come up with top 5 reasons why an iPhone makes much more sense to get over all of its competitors. The generation selection is that important, it can be an Apple iPhone 5, 5S, 6, or 6 Plus. What matters is that the current version of iOS is still being supported by the model itself.
1. App Ecosystem - Almost all of the apps that you need, in their most stable form - mind you, are available for iOS. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook - the list goes on and on. The same goes for Android, you say? Well, Google Play Store has to cater to hundreds of Android smartphone models, which means that some apps may not run at their optimum with certain devices. Not to mention, most of the games people love started out in Apple App Store: Angry Birds? Cut the Rope? Clash of Clans? Name it. If you want to be the first to have a hand at premium or free-mium apps, get an iPhone.
2. Audiophile / Digital Audio Player Quality - Let's face it. Music is and will always be part of our lives. Whether you're on a commute or just at home wanting to catch up with the latest hits from that band you love listening to, you'll need a handy-dandy audio-player. The iPhone delivers and performs both in terms of its ecosystem (i.e. iTunes music download integration) but also when it comes to headphone output.
3. iTunes Organizing Capabilities - Ever been in a situation where your daily phone just conks out on you and you are forced to get yourself a new phone and set it up from scratch? Very stressful, right?
Once you get an iPhone, gone will be the days when you have to search for, copy, and paste your notes, reminders, contacts and messages; iTunes backup makes that easy and simple for you. Plug in your new iPhone, sign in with your Apple ID and every single content that you previously had on your old iPhone will instantly be transferred to your new, shiny iPhone.
Moreover, there is more to iTunes than meets the eye; It organizes tracks and playlists like magic. It's an OCD dream wrapped in one package. Organizing and synching is now made easier with just a few clicks. (Say goodbye to your boring, throwback-to-the-90s click-and-drag routine).
4. Accessories - Who doesn't love to accessorize? We treat our phones as babies and we would always want to keep them in tip-top shape, free of dents, scratches and grime.
Well, what if I tell you that the iPhone is the easiest to accessorize among all the smartphones that are out in the market? It's true. Whatever your budget is, from Divisoria, Recto or Monumento to Makati, Ortigas or Bonifacio High Street, you'll never have a hard time looking for iPhone accessories. And the best thing is that iPhones retain their form factor and design for 2 generations (e.g. Apple iPhone 5 and 5S) - so you can use the same accessories on two iPhone models.
5. Resale Value - If, at this point you're still not convinced with getting an iPhone, I don't know what else could convince you. But if you do get one and you decide that it's not for you, you'd be surprised to find out that you could sell it off quite well and the price depreciation would just be about 15 to 20% off the retail price of a brand new unit. If you don't believe me, then look at either second-hand shopping websites and scout for second hand prices versus the brand new SRP.
As a hardcore Apple fan, these are my five main reasons why I think every flagship smartphone buyer should just stick to the iPhone this year. But again, all these are just from my point of view. Let me know if you agree with my thoughts or you think otherwise. Share your comments below.

Fine, HTC One M8 leads this chart as of today -- but the point is, Apple has consistently given the iPhone the best headphones output over the years. You really can't say the same about other manufacturers. Source: Victor H. of PhoneArena
