MyPhone Rio 2 Specs and Actual Unit Photos Posted on Facebook Ahead of March 31, 2015 Launch
Images of the actual MyPhone Agua Rio 2 2015 midrange smartphone have just been uploaded on Facebook by MP Fan Jekjek Santos (To be specific, he did it five days before the handset's formal launch set to happen on March 31, 2015.)
(Update as of March 31, 2015 1:08PM : MyPhone Rio 2 has just been officially introduced to tech bloggers and the local media by the Pinoy handset company. Its official SRP is Php 5,499 and it will be available in four colors upon launch, namely, Velvet Black, and Matte Orange, Red, and White.)
According to him, the unit is not his and he just got the photos from his uncle who was given the device by an anonymous person. "He never intended to leak the device, Sir Mark. Tito Ruben thought Rio 2 is already available in the market so he posted his unboxing photos on FB for his friends and family to see. I myself thought it's already out," he told me. Here are some exclusive shots that JekJek shared with TechPinas:
Based on everything I'm seeing this major 'leak', it appears that MyPhone Rio 2's main selling points would be its Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, which it will run right out of the box, and the large 2,800 mAh battery pack. In my previous post about this much awaited model, I wrote that I'm expecting it to be powered by an Octa Core processor and to have 2 GB of RAM but apparently, that won't be the case. Still, I'm inclined to get it though if only because of the updated OS. Stay tuned for updates, TP Friends.

This is the real deal, I believe.
JekJek told me that the back cover of the Rio 2 has a matte texture and is removable giving access to the Dual SIM card slots and the microSD card expansion slot. The phone's rather sizable 2,800 mAh battery, however, is non-removable. (TBC)
Both the volume rocker and the power button are located on the right side of the side for easy access using the thumb (for right-handed people, that is.)
The 3.5mm audio jack is located on the top panel.
The microUSB port can be found at the rear. In this photo, notice that the phone has a back panel that slightly curves or tapers down the sides for a slimmer look.
JekJek also sent me a photo of the bottom part of the MyPhone Agua Rio 2's packaging. There, MP listed down some of the device's key technical specifications including its 5-inch HD IPS Full Laminated display, 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and Sony Sensor, 5 MegaPixel front cam for selfies, WiFi and 3G HSPA+ support, 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor (I believe it's a MediaTek MT6582 chip but I'm hoping it's not since that's the SoC of the first generation Rio. I'd be happy if it's the new MT6732M chip, which is already 64-bit and incorporates four ARM Cortex A53 cores and a more powerful Mali T760 GPU), 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage.
