Earlier this evening, I received an invitation from our friends at Lazada Philippines for an exclusive media preview (set to take place on May 12, 2015) of an Alcatel Android smartphone that they'll be offering via their online store starting next month, May 2015.
I've been hearing buzz about the imminent release of this powerhouse midrange handset in the Philippines for weeks now but this is the first time I got some sort of confirmation that it is indeed 'coming soon'.
What's so cool about this model, you ask? Well, it's basically a very affordable 5.5 inch HD phablet with a 64-bit Octa Core MediaTek MT6752M chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM, 13 MegaPixel camera with Sony sensor, 8 MegaPixel front cam, Dual SIM Dual LTE support, and a 3,500 mAh battery pack. But just how affordable is 'very affordable'? According to our reliable source, its official price tag isPhp 6,990 Php 6,490. Yup, it's a powerhouse gaming phablet for less.
Looking at our complete technical specifications table for the Alcatel Flash Plus below, the device really appears to be quite a steal -- especially when you consider its totally budget-friendly price. I particularly love the fact that it has an 8 MegaPixel front cam and a large battery pack; I just hope those features perform well during actual use. Of course, LTE support on both SIM slots makes the deal a whole lot sweeter. If only the Flash Plus had a Full HD display, it would have been near perfect.
Rumor has it that Lazada will be holding a one-day flash sale on May 1, 2015 (Labor Day) and it will feature the Alcatel One Touch Flash Plus. To be honest, I'm not sure if that will push through as our friends from the company hasn't mentioned a word about it. Maybe they want to keep it a secret or maybe they've decided to do it at a later time next month; Hence, the date of our media preview.
