Apple iPhone vs. Samsung Galaxy Argument Leads to Stabbing in Tulsa, Oklahoma USA
As a tech blogger, I'm way too familiar with how crazy fans of various gadget brands and platforms can get when defending their own keep and putting 'fans on the other side of the fence' in their proper place with words of utter vitriol and spite. But what these two roommates from Tulsa, Oklahoma did is beyond me. They're plain nuts.
According to ABC [source], two men are hospitalized after an alcohol-fueled argument began over which flagship handset is better: The Apple iPhone or The Samsung Galaxy Android smartphone.
Tulsa police share that a woman found a man covered in blood, stumbling around the parking lot of the Evergreen Apartments around 1 o'clock in the morning. When police arrived at the apartment complex, they discovered that the roommates had been drinking and arguing over their own mobile phones, trying to beat one another in a casual debate on which device is better.
Police say the two men eventually broke beer bottles and stabbed each other with them. "One of the men smashed a bottle over the back of the other man's head. Police aren't sure who they will charge or if charges will be filed at this time. Both men are being treated at an area hospital for their injuries." Unbelievable.
TP Friends, needless to say, there's a lesson to be learned in this terrible, terrible story and that is - sometimes - we should just agree to disagree. I know it can be tempting to go all out in defending the things that we believe in - be it gadgets, religion, ideals, etc. - but at the end of the day, I think our relationship with one another as human beings is far more important than all the things - material or intangible - that we can possibly hold on this Earth. It sounds cheesy but it's true.
Anyway, going back to the topic of their argument, I think the iPhone has its own strengths and the same thing can be said about Android smartphones. The iPhone has better apps and ecosystem and they tend to be deemed really high-end and premium -- but flagship Android handsets tend to have superior specs and are more affordable. For me, 'which device is better' totally depends on the needs as well as the profile of the consumer buying it. But that's just me. Let me know your thoughts about 'Android vs. iPhone', guys.
