Most Powerful Cherry Mobile Smartphone as of Q1 2015 : CM Cosmos One Plus Unboxing, Antutu Benchmark Score, Specs, Initial Impressions
As of April 6, 2015, Cherry Mobile Cosmos One Plus - launched last January 14 - remains to be the most powerful smartphone in the Pinoy handset company's current product line-up, having the best technical specifications and internal hardware.
Just like last year's Cosmos One - which is now a part of the TP Collection, this year's Plus version sports 'a classy, modern build that can go well in even the most formal settings.' This eye-catching design language - replete with faux metal accents and a textured back cover - is wonderfully complemented by the clear and crisp 5.5-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels (480ppi) IPS display that's protected by scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3 touchscreen and is probably the first thing that will tell you that this phone is top-level model upon turning it on.
But more than being a head-turner, CM Cosmos One Plus - as a true battleship release - is packed with great features and specs. In terms of imaging capabilities, the device is equipped with a 14 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and BSI Sony IMX 214 sensor for brilliant images even in low light conditions. There's also an 8 MegaPixel front cam for crisp and clear selfies that are perfect for sharing on Facebook on Instagram and can work with your favorite selfie apps like YouCam Perfect. For videos, the main camera at the back can capture Full HD clips while the one in front takes HD shots.
As for the innards, Cherry Mobile Cosmos One Plus runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with its Octa Core 2 GHz MediaTek MT6595M chipset incorporating four ARM Cortex A17 cores, four Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 CPUs, and a 450 MHz IMG Rogue G6200 GPU. As of today, this is the most powerful SoC that you can find on any device in CM's catalogue. This phablet, which likewise powered by a removabled 2,700 mAh battery pack, handles multitasking with 3 GB of RAM and has 32 GB of internal storage that's easily expandable via microSD card slot supporting up to 64GB.
"With Cherry Mobile’s Cosmos One Plus, everyone can have the powerful, versatile, and affordable smartphone that they always wanted. This latest mobile device from the top local brand in the Philippines is the Champion of its class and is a league above the rest," the top-selling handset company in the Philippines of 2014 added.
"How's the battery life?" That's what most you guys ask whenever I post photos of this handset on my social media accounts. Well, to be frank, the battery of the phone could be bigger but then, as it is, it's already good enough to give me around 10 to 12 hours of uptime with mixed usage (turning on mobile data from time to time), which - I think - is not bad at all. It's not particularly a powerhouse in terms of battery life but it's not the kind of phone that you'd have to charge in the middle of the day in your office just to make sure that it won't run out of juice on your way home in the evening. But if you're a heavy mobile gamer or a power user who needs to be connected to a 4G network at all times on-the-go, I would suggest that you throw in a powerbank in your bag just to be sure.
Dual LTE, Dual microSIM, Dual Standby Cherry Mobile Cosmos One Plus is available at select CM concept stores, kiosks, and authorized dealers nationwide for only Php 13,999, which is already very pocket-friendly given this handset's caliber.

Let's do a quick unboxing!
CM Cosmos Plus One ships inside this 'black with gold imprints' box, which - I believe - is Cherry Mobile's new packaging design for its flagship level releases.
CM printed the key technical specifications and features of the smartphone at the bottom of the package, which I - and I'm sure all geeky CM fans - greatly appreciate.
The phablet comes with a free pre-installed screen-protector (Yup! No need to buy one separately.); You just need to carefully peel off this 'key-specs sticker' to reveal it.
The back plate - with a fine, fingerprint-resistant texture - is removable, giving you access to the battery (which can also be pulled out) and the Dual SIM card slots, both supporting LTE.
The phone's loud speaker is located on the lower portion of the back panel while the microUSB port can be found at the rear.
CM Cosmos One Plus has a hardware camera button located above the power button on the right panel. It totally comes in handy when taking selfies using the main camera.
The 3.5 mm audio jack is on top.
On the left panel, you will find the volume rocker.
CM Cosmos One Plus sides are lined with this silver-painted faux metal accent. The only real metal design element on the phone is the small chip at the back, framing the camera module.
Aside from the unit itself, the standard Cherry Mobile Cosmos One Plus retail package includes the headphones with in-ear silicone buds and microphone, travel charger, microUSB to USB cable connector, user manual, and a free flip-cover window case, which displays the time and date and gives you access to your notifications tab.
Aside from its internal hardware giving it raw power, CM Cosmos One Plus' super crisp and vibrant zero-air-gap display is my favorite feature of this amazing release. I mean, the first time I fired up this phone, that screen just instantly impressed me and made me feel that Cherry Mobile wanted this phone to be the best handset by a local company that's available in the market. It's breath-taking, really.
All the above-mentioned top-notch internal hardware give this flagship phablet an Antutu Benchmark Score of 42,955, making it - as I've said - the most powerful smartphone in CM's Q1 2015 line-up.
This high mark - which is well-reflected in the high-level gaming performance of the device as well as its super smooth screen transitions and touch response - supposedly puts Cherry Mobile Cosmos One Plus in between the expensive high-end models HTC One M8 and Huawei Mate 7 in terms of raw power.
This smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with an almost-vanilla user interface, except for the multitasking panel that's reminiscent of what's on Meizu's FlyMe OS.
3GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage, plus USB On-The-Go support; Now, that's quite something.
CM Cosmos One Plus is sensor-packed! It probably has the most sensors out of all handsets by Pinoy companies that are currently out in the market.
