Huawei Honor 6 Plus Price in the Philippines is Php 17,490 : Unboxing, Specs, Antutu Benchmark Score, Initial Impressions
'Honor' is Huawei's fairly new line of smartphones that aims to give consumers a chance to experience premium handset design and technical specifications without having to break the bank.
'Ascend' remains to be the Chinese company's flagship-level and aspirational line with 'Honor' supplementing it in the midrange and entry-level categories.
Donning an official suggested retail price of Php 17,490, Huawei Honor 6 Plus is currently the most high-end model in this series not only in terms of looks but also when in comes to hardware and imaging capabilities.
Sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS OGS display, Huawei Honor 6 Plus a full-fledged phablet that's just slightly smaller than the best-selling Huawei Mate7. I've been using this handset for almost a week now and I find that - aside from its internal hardware and unique imaging features - its massive yet brilliant and crisp screen framed by an ultra-thin bezel is its strongest suit.
Honor 6 Plus has a dual 8 MegaPixel camera set-up at the back, which is reminiscent of the one on HTC One M8. According to Huawei, "[This] dual-lens camera [module allows the Honor 6+ to capture] double the amount of light. Coupled with a focus time of just 0.1 seconds, you’ll be able to capture beautiful night-time scenes that offer a level of clarity never seen before on a smartphone." On top of that, I find that this imaging set-up is particularly useful when playing with the depth of field to take shots with interesting 'bokeh' effects.
In my Huawei Ascend P6 and P7 reviews, I noted that Huawei makes smartphones that deliver the best selfies. Heck, any flagship-level Huawei phone owner will tell you that the company's imaging algorithms for selfies are definitely top-notch. And I'm happy to report that the Honor 6+'s 8 MegaPixel front-facing cam is as good as that of its more expensive siblings. Its selfie shooter also has the familiar 10-level beautification software that instantly improves your skintone and enhances the proportions of your face to give you more attractive self portraits.
As much as it is a larger version of the Honor 6, I also consider the Honor 6+ as the phablet version of the 2014 TechPinas Badge of Excellence Awardee Huawei Ascend P7 -- if only because the two handsets practically share the same design identity.
Just like the P7, Honor 6+ flaunts a sleek anodized aluminum side frame held in place by a polycarbonate base. This design element doesn't only make the phablet durable but also gives it an air of understated elegance and corporate sophistication. The volume rocker and power button - both made of metal - are placed on the right side for easy access using the thumb -- if you're right-handed.
This phablet runs its Emotion UI 3.0 skinned Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with its powerhouse Octa Core HiSilicon Kirin 925 chipset that incorporates four ARM Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, four 1.3 GHz ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs, and a Mali-T628 MP4 graphics chip. The neat, app-drawer free Emotion UI is Huawei's own experience or interface for Android that brings several enhancements to the operating system including a more intuitive camera app, motion and gesture control, detailed notification panel, as well as ultra power saving mode. According to our friends from Huawei, the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade for this model is coming very soon and it will also include an updated version of the Emotion UI.
The above-mentioned chipset paired with 3GB of RAM for seamless multitasking and 32GB of ROM (25.77GB user-available) give Huawei Honor 6 Plus an Antutu Benchmark Score in the area of 43,000 to 45,000. I got a score of 44,454 when I ran the test on the phone last June 28, 2015.
Huawei Honor 6 Plus' big and vibrant display, great imaging capabilities, eye-catching design, solid build, and powerful set of internal specifications are enough to make the phablet a true leader in its price echelon. But if there's a feature that makes it a definite stand-out, it would have to be its ginormous 3,600 mAh battery pack giving the device extended uptime. Using the handset for taking a few photos, updating my social networking accounts, reading emails, browsing websites, and playing Marvel Contest Champion from time to time just to relax, I get around 2 days of battery life from this gorgeous smartphone, which is already laudable.
Overall, I'm inclined to recommend the Huawei Honor 6 Plus to all consumers who are looking for a midrange Android smartphone that gives incredible value for money. At Php 17,490, Huawei Honor 6 Plus is not the most affordable Octa Core phablet that's available in the market but I promise you, its quality and power can rival that of smartphones and phablets by international brands that cost more than twice as much. I invite you to give Honor 6+ a test run at a Huawei Concept Store or authorized retail outlet near you so you can experience for yourself how amazing this model is.

Let's take a look at the complete retail package that you will get for that amount.
Huawei uses this environment-friendly cyan paper box for all Honor smartphones.
Lifting the cover reveals the stunning handset.
Removing the Huawei Honor 6 Plus from its paper tray, you will be greeted by this rather inconspicuous smiley.
Here's the complete retail package. The travel charger and microUSB cable are placed together in one container. The same goes for the user manual, dual screen protectors, and SIM card tray ejector. No earphones included; I guess that's one of the ways that Huawei was able to keep the price of this powerhouse smartphone quite affordable.
The travel charger has two rounded prongs. No biggie; I have adapters at home.
microUSB to USB cable for charging the handset as well as for connecting it to a computer.
You need this to eject the microSIM card tray and the one for the nanoSIM card, which doubles as a microSD card expansion slot.
If you have time, read the thick user manual.
Huawei generously included these protectors for the screen as well as the glossy plastic back plate of the handset. I would advise that you have the sales staff install this for you at the store right after purchasing the handset.

The microUSB port is located at the rear. Huawei Honor 6 Plus supports USB-On-The-Go so you can connect your microUSB flash drive to this port to quickly transfer files.

Such high mark puts the Honor 6+ right up there with the OnePlus One and HTC One M8 flagship smartphones in terms of raw power and responsiveness. This score also reflects the fact that this phablet is one of the best mobile devices for gaming that's available in the market.
