Cherry Mobile Flare XL Price is Php 4,999 : Specs and Features of The Octa Core Android Phablet for Everyone
From the time the very first Flare model hit the market, this line of handsets from local electronics company Cherry Mobile has represented value for money. The very popular and best-selling Flare series has consistently given budget-conscious Pinoy consumers the chance to experience Android on devices that have decent technical specifications without having to break the bank.
Cherry Mobile Flare XL completes CM's initial batch of midrange Flare handsets for the first half of 2015, which includes Cherry Mobile Flare S3 Octa and Cherry Mobile Flare S3 Power; Both of which are now doing very well in terms of sales.
Of the three models, the Flare XL is the full-fledged phablet as it has a massive 5.5-inch HD display just like the Cherry Mobile Infinix Pure XL that was released last December 2014. Back then, the former had an SRP of Php 6,999.
Fast forward to June 2015, we get this model - that has exactly the same internal hardware (headlined by the Octa Core 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex A7 and Mali 400 based MediaTek MT6592M chipset, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of expandable storage), same main camera resolution at 13 MegaPixels, and a higher resolution 5 MegaPixel front facing cam for selfies - for Php 2,000 less!
One downside is that it only has a 2,300 mAh battery pack, which is a tad small considering the size of the phone's display. Cherry Mobile obviously had to cut corners to keep the price of this release below Php 5,000 and this is the result of that. The similarly priced Flare S3 that has a smaller display but comes with a far bigger 4,000 mAh battery pack is a good alternative for those who value uptime more than a big screen.
Running Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and supporting 3G HSPA+ mobile speeds, Dual SIM Dual Standby Cherry Mobile Flare XL is now available at all CM Concept Stores, kiosks, and authorized retail partners nationwide. If you're looking for an affordable yet capable Android smartphone with very large display and you don't mind that it has a rather small battery (because you can always use a powerbank anyway), then I recommend that you considering getting this budget-friendly model.

One thing I really like about this handset, aside from the big display and the decent set of innards, is that it looks quite attractive. Its sports this metallic accent down its sides that - I think - makes the phone look more expensive than it actually is.
The back cover has a matte, soft-textured finish which doesn't only resist fingerprints but also increases friction with your hand when you hold the phone, decreasing the chance of accidental slippage.
