Apple iPod Touch 2015 Philippines Price, Full Specs, Key New Features
The Sixth Generation iPod Touch is now officially available in the Philippines. You can get the Cupertino company's portable media player via Apple Store online as well as all popular distribution channels including Beyond The Box and Kimstore.
The 2015 model looks almost identical to its now discontinued predecessor from 2013. Both have the same form factor, build, and standard color options - namely, Black, White, Yellow, Pink, and Sky Blue. One obvious difference in terms of design, however, is that this year's iPod Touch no longer has a lanyard loop at the back.
Some key specifications of the 2013 model were also retained on the refresh. Users get the same 4-inch 1136 x 640 pixels Retina Display, 1.2 MegaPixel front cam, 16GB/32GB/64GB storage space options, and battery life of around 8 hours when watching videos or 40 hours when listening to music.
Despite all their similarities, there are two areas where the 6th gen iPod Touch is clearly superior compared to the 5th gen. First, the new one has an improved 8 MegaPixel camera with ƒ/2.4 aperture, five-element lens, and backside illumination versus just 5 MegaPixel on the old model. Second, and perhaps more importantly, the 2015 version is powered by the Apple A8 chipset with M8 motion co-processor that's the same as what's inside the Apple iPhone 6. This powerhouse chip is even complemented by a 1GB of RAM (versus on 512MB on the 5th gen) for vastly improved multi-tasking on iOS 8.
So how much is it? Apple iPod Touch 2015 prices start at Php 12,590 for the 16GB model and goes as high as Php 18,590 for the 64GB variant. There's also 128GB Apple-Store-Only model that sells for Php 24,990.
Should you get it? If you're a big Apple fan but you're not keen on spending around Php 40,000 on an iPhone just to be on the iOS ecosystem, the iPod Touch should be your best option (apart from getting a second-hand previous-gen iPhone, that is). Frankly, though, I think that - at this point - spending almost Php 13,000 on a device with such small screen and lacking phone functionality might not be the wisest thing to do given the vast number of great Android smartphones in this price echelon. But that's just me -- a tech blogger who loves iOS and Android with equal intensity but for different reasons.

I would like to give credit to Mr. Dom Esposito for all of these iPod Touch 2015 photos.
