Recommended Protective Power Case for Apple iPhone 6 Plus : Boompods 4,000 mAh PowerCase
Powered by a 2,915 mAh Lithium Polymer battery pack, the Apple iPhone 6 Plus already has decent uptime. My #SmartiPhone6Plus usually stays on for around 12 to 15 hours on 3G or LTE before needing to be recharged -- and I think that's not bad at all.
However, there are days - especially when I'm out of town, on the road, or in conferences in and outside the country - when I need my handset to stay on and not require to be plugged to an electrical outlet for more than 24 hours. And for those moments, I'm happy that I have my Boompods PowerCase.
Boompods products are being distributed in the Philippines by MacPower Marketing Corporation and are up for purchase at all Power Mac Center branches and online via Lazada PH.
For those who are wondering, Boompods is a global electronics company that specializes in crafting and selling accessories -- ranging from headphones to powerbanks, car chargers to loud speakers. Boompods has offices and distribution partners in many countries around the world - from the United States to Germany, United Kingdom to Japan - and they've now started to be more aggressive in bringing their cool products to our country
PowerCase is one of Boompods' key products this year and moving forward. The company has one for both iPhone 6 and 6 Plus -- selling for Php 4,500 and Php 4,900, respectively. These cases are available in a variety of youthful colors, namely, Blue, Green, Grey, and Orange, among others. I got Grey for both my #SmartiPhone6 and #SmartiPhone6Plus.
At Php 4,900, Boompods PowerCase for the Apple iPhone 6 Plus is not as cheap as other similar accessories you can get for this iDevice. Yes, it's expensive -- but it sure looks and feels that way. Think about this: If you have a pricey smartphone that's dear to you, why would you get a case for it that's not worthy of its value?

Check out the cool packaging design.

The package includes the Power Case itself, the microUSB to USB charging cable, 3.5mm audio jack extension cable, and the user manual.
The manual includes information on how to properly open and install the case.
Boompods PowerCase for iPhone 6 Plus measures 172 x 82 x 15.2 millimeters. And it weighs exactly 131 grams, which is about the heft of a standard 5 inch smartphone.
The accessory has grooves and holes for iPhone's volume buttons, silent switch, camera module, and power button.
The PowerCase connects to the iPhone 6 Plus via the device's 9-pin Lightning port.
There are four LED lights at the back indicating how much charge the case holds. Four bulbs is equivalent to 75% to 100% charge.
All Boompods PowerCases have matte finish, which I like since it doesn't attract too much fingerprint grime and it allows for better grip when holding the handset.
To install it on your iPhone, you'd have to pry open the black rim of the case from the back plate. You can your your iPhone's metal SIM card tray ejector for this albeit using the thicker end or your fingernail if it's strong enough. Just insert it on the groove above the microUSB port of the case and carefully create gap between the two parts of the accessory.
Now, we're ready to install it on our iPhone.
Slide the iPhone on the tray until it perfectly connects to the case via the Lightning port.
Then, carefully place the protective rim back in place. Simply press the two parts together in all areas; You should hear a clicking sound every time parts of the rim would latch in place.
Here's how it should look when properly installed. Make sure that there are no gaps between the rim and the back plate to ensure protection.
You can connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC via PowerCase's microUSB port; No need to remove the accessory. Also, if you're good at shooting - like I am, you can actually plug in your Earpods to the 3.5mm audio jack without having to use the extension cable. But you want to be extra careful, go ahead and use the cord.
It's good that the case has front-facing speaker holes, projecting the sound emanating from the iPhone directly to the user.
Some protective cases make the power and volume buttons harder to press because of poor design and construction. Boompods PowerCase is not like those.
For a case hiding a massive 4,000 mAh battery pack, Boompods is already ultra-slim at only 15.2 millimeters.
To be honest, though, the whole package is a bit heavy at 260 grams. But then, when I consider what this accessory does - it protects and more than doubles the uptime of my iPhone 6 Plus - for me, it's a limitation that I fully embrace.
To start or stop charging your iDevice, simply press the button at the back for two seconds.
Boompods PowerCase has cool functionality -- but what I love most about it is how elegant and sleek it looks; Its minimalist design identity complements the high-end aesthetics of the iPhone.
