Asus ZenPad 7.0 Z730CG Philippines Price Php 7,995, Specs, In the Flesh Photos of Black and White Variants
More expensive than the ZenPad C by Php 2,000, the similarly-sized Asus ZenPad 7.0 features higher resolution front and main cameras, clearer 7-inch display, more RAM, and a more luxurious shell -- if a bit.
Although lacking the Dual SIM Dual Standby capability of its more affordable look-alike, ZenPad 7.0 - which only has one SIM card slot - also comes with phone functionality, allowing the user to make calls, send text messages, and to connect to a 3G network for browsing the net and using applications.
According to Asus, "ZenPad is the world's first tablet to feature an innovative interchangeable cover design that lets users easily customize their tablet with functional back covers. These can provide extra features and additional color options, while perfectly matching ZenPad’s looks."
"Asus ZenPad also boasts of Asus’ VisualMaster technology for incredible viewing experience, Asus’ famous camera innovation -- the Asus PixelMaster technology and an incredible cinematic audio feature while still allowing users to enjoy unprecedented performance," they added.
PixelMaster is an exclusive Asus camera technology comprising a set of features including low-light mode that improves camera performance and make it easier for users to capture great photos and videos.
Low-light Mode - the company says - significantly increases camera performance in poorly lit scenes. By merging adjacent pixels, the camera increases light sensitivity by up to 400% and contrast up to 200%, resulting in clear and bright low-light shots without the need for a flash. Electronic Image Stabilizer (EIS) improves low-light performance even further resulting in sharper, non-blurry photos. Low-light mode is also available when shooting video.
Going back to the device's looks, the tablet flaunts a swappable back cover that has a luxurious texture and finish. You can remove this plate to use Asus accessories including ZenCase, ZenClutch, and AudioCover.
Asus ZenPad 7.0 Z730CG is equipped with a 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixels IPS display, which is a tad more crisp that ZenPad C's screen, which has a resolution of 1024 x 600. This display is framed by thin bezels, allowing you to hold the tablet firmly with just one hand.
ZenPad 7.0's external hardware are more than decent for a slate in its price bracket. But what makes it a cut above the rest are the components it has under the hood, including its Intel Sofia chipset.
As mentioned in my Asus ZenPad C 7.0 post, Intel Atom x3 Processor Series - aka Sofia - provides a foundation for full-featured and cost-effective platforms with fast and seamless mobile experiences which meet today’s consumers’ expectations. ZenPad 7.0's Intel Atom x3-C3230RK processor, a collaboration between Intel and Rockchip, includes a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom CPU and an integrated 3G modem.
Paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM that users can further beef up using the device's microSD card expansion slot, this tablet's Intel Sofia SoC delivers a lag free gaming and HD movie viewing experience on its stunning display.
On top of that, the ZenPad is the world's first tablet to integrate DTS Premium Sound technology for incredible audio. The built-in DTS-HD coder-decoder (codec) provides high-fidelity sound from all types of multimedia content, and lets users play back or stream movies and music with up to 5.1 channels of DTS surround sound to a connected audio system. ZenPad also includes DTS Sound Studio™ to transform stereo audio into virtual surround-sound that users can enjoy either through ZenPad's speakers or using headphones for immersive entertainment experiences at home or on the go.
Running Zen-UI-skinned Android 5.0 Lollipop, Asus ZenPad 7.0 is now available at all Asus Concept Stores and authorized retail partners across the country. You can get it in three colors - namely, Black, White, and Aurora Metallic - and again, it sells for only Php 7,995.

Asus ZenPad 7.0 was launched in the Philippines alongside ZenPad C and S 8.0 at an exclusive event held at Buddha Bar in Makati City.

One key design characteristic of Z370CG - which becomes more obvious when you place the tablet beside its look-alike, ZenPad C Z170CG - is its chrome-plated rim, running down its sides.
The ZenPad 7.0 sports an 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera at the back that's complemented by a 2MP shooter in front for selfies -- as opposed to the ZenPad C's 2MP and 0.3MP camera combo.

All of its features considered, I think Asus ZenPad 7.0 is clearly one of the best tablets under Php 10,000 that you can get this year.
