LG Nexus 2015 Android Smartphone with Fingerprint Scanner and USB Type C Port, Leaked!
I've always thought that the Nexus smartphone that LG made for Google way back in 2013 is one of the best smartphones that the Korean company has ever crafted; In fact, it got our Badge of Excellence that year.
Looking at these leaked images of the purported 2015 follow-up to the best-selling Google Nexus 5, it appears to me that LG hasn't lost the touch when it comes to making a 'collaborative device' for the company behind the Android operating system.
According to @OnLeaks and uSwitch - the entities behind this major leak, the LG Nexus 2015 release will sport a 5.2-inch display and will be around 8 millimeters thick.
The renders also show that the smartphone is equipped with what looks like a Fingerprint Scanner beside its protruding camera module as well as a oblong USB Type-C port.
Interestingly, these are also two of the hardware features that the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS will support. So these photos are for real - and I think they are, it's clear that Google really intends to showcase the full capabilities and breadth of upgrades that comes with the latest version of their mobile operating system via this handset.
Now, as for the phone's internal hardware, insiders say that it will run on the powerhouse Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor - similar what's inside the LG G4 - and will get its juice from a 2,700 mAh battery pack.
No word yet on its price and exact release -- but I think this should see launch in key markets for Nexus within Q3 2015. Right now, I'm just hoping that would don the same SRP as the Nexus 5, which sold for around Php 19,000 to Php 20,000.
