Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Philippines Price, Release Date, Complete Specs, Features
A gadget fan himself and updated about the latest tech news, my buddy asked this question while we were having dinner earlier this evening: "So as a tech blogger, how would you describe the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus?"
I replied, "I can describe it in two ways. First, it has all the technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note5 but it has a curved-edge display instead of a stylus."
"And second, it's simply a phablet version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with 4GB of RAM."
After which, I showed him these actual photos of the SGS6EdgePlus courtesy of the good folks at Android Authority and I gave him a rundown of the phablet's key technical specifications, including its 5.7-inch Quad HD SuperAMOLED display that gently curves on either sides, the 16 MegaPixel main camera with top-notch sensor and Auto HDR mode, 5 MegaPixel selfie cam, 4K video recorder, One Touch Finger Scanner, Heart Rate monitor, and 4G LTE Cat9 support.
He then told me, "I guess if Samsung Galaxy Note5 and the 5.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge from earlier this year had a kid, their offspring would be the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus."
Well, yeah. You can say the SGS6EdgePlus got its massive screen, relatively small 3,000 mAh non-removable battery, and great multitasking capability with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM from the Note5 and all of its other features from the smaller SGS6Edge. I think that'd be accurate.
Though, we should also note that one Edge screen software feature of the earlier flagship (that is, apart from Information Screen and Edge Lighting) saw an upgrade on this bigger version.
To be specific, People Edge - which used to just show the user's preferred or favorite contacts - can now also house application icons and can be accessed from anywhere you are on the phone's interface instead of being tied to just the home screen. You may also re-position the pull-tab on any part of both the left and right curved edges. Sweet!
"So when is the phablet arriving in the Philippines and how much will it be?" my friend asked me while we ordered dessert.
I answered, "It's landing here on September 5, 2015 along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. According to Samsung Mobile Philippines, the S6 Edge Plus will don an SRP of Php 39,990 for the 32GB model and Php 44,990 for the 64GB version."
"So expensive," he said.
"Yes. And with a luxurious glass-metal-glass build, it looks that way too," I retorted.
