Xiaomi Mi 4i Price in the Philippines is Php 9,799 : Out Now via Smart Postpaid, Lazada, and Authorized Retail Partners Nationwide
Mi 4i - the powerful midrange smartphone of the disruptive Chinese electronics company, Xiaomi - is now available in the Philippines via online and offline channels and as a bundled handset with Smart Postpaid Plans.
The phone dons an official suggested retail price of Php 9,799 at Lazada Philippines and in all of the company's authorized retail stores across the archipelago.
With Smart Postpaid, you can get Xiaomi Mi 4i for free when you subscribe to Surf Plus Plan 999, which also gives you 5GB of monthly data allowance, 100 All-Net text messages, 30 Minutes of All-Net calls, and free use of one application (current app choices include Spinnr, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Line, Viber, WeChat, Messenger, Twitter, Waze, Yahoo Mail, and Gmail), with a 30-month contract.
Mr. Steve Vickers - General Manager of Xiaomi Southeast Asia - said, "We are truly excited to partner exclusively with Smart to offer Mi4i in the Philippines, as we introduce different ways to make it easier for Mi fans to get their hands on our products. We believe that users of Mi 4i will be able to enjoy an amazing experience with the fast and seamless connectivity nationwide on Smart’s expansive mobile network."
On the other hand, Mr. Ariel P. Fermin - Executive Vice President and Consumer Business Group Head at Smart - shared, "A breakthrough device as Xiaomi’s Mi4i deserves to be powered by the country’s largest mobile network. We’re excited to partner with Xiaomi to offer the Mi 4i alongside Smart’s innovative digital services and vast nationwide network, which can truly let our subscribers experience entertainment everywhere in the country."
Xiaomi Mi 4i, In A Nutshell
Xiaomi applied its powerful design and engineering capabilities to create Mi 4i, which was first launched in India in April 2015. Designed to fit perfectly in your hand, Mi 4i features a 5-inch 1080p Full HD IPS display with a sleek polycarbonate unibody design. A high-capacity 3,120 mAh battery powers the compact phone, a feat made possible only by close cooperation with leading suppliers such as Qualcomm, Samsung, Corning and Sony, and other world-class manufacturing partners.
The Mi 4i's 5-inch screen comes with a pixel density of 441 ppi and features the all-new Sunlight Display technology that dynamically adjusts the contrast of each pixel for crystal-clear images even under direct sunlight. I'll share with you a video demo of this cool innovation later this week.
As for the handset's imaging capabilities, Mi 4i takes gorgeous photos with its 13 MegaPixel f/2.0 rear camera with HDR mode and delivers selfies that are ready for sharing on social networking sites with its 5 MegaPixel selfie cam with advanced beautification mode.
The device runs its MIUI 6.0 skinned Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with its second generation 64-bit Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, handles multitasking with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and has 16GB of on-board storage. The phone doesn't have a microSD card expansion slot, which is one of its downsides, but it does support USB OTG so you can use your flash drive to quickly transfer files, freeing up storage space.
Let's talk battery life and uptime.
Xiaomi collaborated with manufacturing partner Foxconn to manufacture a motherboard that is one of the smallest and thinnest found in a phone this size, making space for a huge non-removable 3,120 mAh battery that - according to the company - can power the Mi 4i through 1.5 days of normal usage.
The neat and gorgeous MIUI 6.0 is the latest version of Xiaomi's very own interface or experience for the Android operating system. Quoting the company, "We believe that it takes more than just good features to create a beautiful design. From orderly workflows, clear hierarchies to fluent responses, we believe that good design exists in every tap, drag and pinch you make. Natural and intuitive, just the way it should be. This is MIUI 6. It's visually stunning, stunningly simple. It's the start of a new chapter."
On top of having sleek fonts and attractive icons, MIUI 6.0 comes with a slew of useful features including 'Mi Cloud, which connects all your Mi devices with each other - your phone, tablet, TV and set-top box - allowing you to view your photos anytime, anywhere, or continue browsing a webpage on your Mi Pad from where you left off on your phone, and a reliable built-in Security Center that takes full advantage of advanced security technologies from Tencent, Kingsoft and LBE. This complete security mechanism ensures perfect privacy protection for users, and optimizes battery and data usage.'

Xiaomi Mi4i comes in a number of colors but the Philippines will initially get only the Dark Grey variant. I was told by our friends from the company that the White model will follow soon after.
Xiaomi Mi 4i was officially launched in the Philippines last July 20, 2014 at Yardstick Cafe in Makati City. During the event, I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Mr. Steve Vickers about their latest handset (I got it all on video, which I'll share with you soon) and to hug this cute and cuddly Mi Bunny.
