Cherry Mobile MAIA Smart Tab Price is Php 4,999, Officially Launched! Unboxing Photos, Accessories Check!
Made for millenials who live active lifestyles, Cherry Mobile MAIA Smart Tab has just been officially launched by the local electronics giant via an exclusive media held at Makati Diamond Residences.
As I've earlier shared with you guys, this is a dual boot tablet running both Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating systems with is 64-Bit Intel Atom 1.8 GHz Quad Core Z3537F processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. The slate is equipped with a 8-inch 800 x 1280 pixels widescreen IPS display, 5 MegaPixel main camera, 2 MP front cam, HD video recorder, and a 3,800 mAh battery pack. Overall, I think these are great specs for a device that only costs Php 4,999.
"Cherry Mobile's latest MAIA [tablet] is dedicated to the youth with their untiring passion in mind. By introducing these devices, we hope that the youth and young professionals would have more avenues to express their passions and realize their dreams just like [our new celebrity endorser] Janella Salvador, who embodies our campaign #KayaWithMAIA," shared Mr. Maynard Ngu, CEO of Cherry Mobile.
Here's how the slate's packaging looks.
At the bottom, you'll find a list of the product's key features and technical specifications. It's not that detailed but it's enough to give you an idea of what MAIA Smart Tab has to offer.
The image on the box's cover instantly shows one of the main selling points of the tablet, which is its Dual Boot capability. Again, it runs Microsoft Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, giving you the best of both worlds.
Apart from being able to run two operating systems, I think what makes the Cherry Mobile MAIA Smart Tab a truly good purchase for just Php 4,999 is its great set of internal hardware. The tablet is powered by a powerful 64-Bit Intel Atom 1.8 GHz Quad Core Z3537F processor - similar to what's inside hybrid devices that cost more than twice as much, has 2 GB of RAM for smooth multitasking, and comes with - get this - 32GB of expandable storage. MAIA Smart Tab may not be the most gorgeous slate out there but it is definitely one of the most powerful mobile devices in its price category.
Cherry Mobile MAIA Smart Tab is now available at all Cherry Mobile concept stores as well as select kiosks and authorized retail outlets across the country. I highly recommend this to all fellow millenials who are looking for an budget-friendly tablet that's powerful and flexible enough to accompany them as they try accomplish their lofty goals and achieve their big dreams in life.
Stay tuned for our follow-up posts featuring this great 'value for money' tablet.

The standard retail package includes the unit itself, the travel charger, microUSB to USB connector cable, and the user manual.
This sticker protects the display during shipment and also gives you the device's key features in one glance. The device also comes with a pre-installed screen-protector underneath this sticker.
The tablet's body is made entirely of polycarbonate, which is one of the ways that CM was able to keep the product's price low despite it having great internal hardware.
MAIA Smart Tab lacks metal or metallic design accents (not counting the camera module's shiny rim) but has dual ridges lining its sides serving as a rather unique design feature and helping the user hold the device better with just one hand.
Cherry Mobile MAIA Smart Tab has a singular capacitive button below the display; It's a Windows key, which works a home button for both Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
I like that the volume rocker and power button are located on the right side, near the top panel as I'm less likely to accidentally click on them while holding the slate in portrait mode.
The back plate of MAIA Smart Tab is non-removable and lining its margins, you'll find the loud speaker at the bottom, the microSD card expansion slot on the right side, and the 5 MegaPixel fixed focus rear cam near the top, which is complemented by a 2MP fixed focus cam for selfies and video calls in front. Underneath the case, the slate has a 3,800 mAh battery pack delivering up to a whole day of uptime with regular use.
