Lenovo Phab Plus Philippines Price is Php 14,999 : 6.8-Inch Phablet Complete Specs, Release Date, In The Flesh Photos, Key Features
With ultra-large Full HD IPS display measuring 6.8 inches across, Lenovo Phab Plus is one of the biggest phablets that are now available in the Philippine market.
And yet, Lenovo crafted its shell so well that the hybrid can still fit in just one hand.
Playing with the device during its official local launch held at the Boracay 1 and 2 Halls of EDSA Shangrila Hotel yesterday, there are three things that instantly made me want to get it for myself.
First, it's beautiful and sleek. Lenovo Phab Plus features an elegant unibody frame that's made from lightweight aluminum -- making the device both durable and opulent. Its design is largely reminiscent of the Apple iPhone 6 Plus - albeit bigger - and that says a lot about its aesthetics.
Second, Phab Plus' massive display is a real treat -- especially for those who love watching videos on their phone. I also like that it's easier to thumb-type on this screen because of the size of the virtual keys.
And third, it has decent imaging capabilities. There's a 13 MegaPixel autofocus camera with Dual Tone LED flash at the back that delivers clear and brilliant photos. And the 5 MP fixed focus cam in front takes nice looking selfies...
Of course, it doesn't hurt that Lenovo Phab Plus actually has fairly powerful internal hardware for a phablet that only costs Php 14,999. This LTE-enabled hybrid runs its Vibe-UI-flavored Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with a 64-Bit Octa-Core Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset, has 2GB of RAM, and comes with 32GB of internal storage that you can expand if you're willing to sacrifice Dual SIM capability as the secondary nanoSIM slot also reads microSD cards. This phablet is hardly a beast in terms of raw power but it should be good enough should give you a smooth overall mobile experience if you're not a power user or a heavy 3D gamer.
According to our friends at Lenovo, "Compatible with all HD content including photos, movies and games, this feature-packed gadget provides consumers with a powerful multimedia experience in one hand (with Vibe UI's one-handed use mode). [...] Plus, it features Dolby Atmos to deliver a breathtaking, moving audio for an amazing mobile entertainment experience."
Is it the right device for you? I think it's made for a niche market. Lenovo Phab Plus is for consumers who want to enjoy content - photos, videos, websites, apps, games - on an extra-large display that's normally seen on tablets but aren't keen on carrying a gadget that's as big or as heavy. Obviously, though, it's also not as small or light as a typical 5 to 5.5 inch smartphone, so there's that compromise.
Overall, Lenovo Phab Plus offers great value for money. Frankly, it looks and feels more expensive than it actually is. And when I consider everything that it offers buyers for just Php 14,999, it's hard not to recommend it to consumers who are in the market for a phablet that delivers.

With 324 ppi pixel density, Lenovo Phab Plus' 6.8-inch display is not the most crisp mobile device screen out there. But since it's IPS, it has good color integrity regardless of the viewing angle.

...especially when you use Lenovo's Selfie Flash accessory that will sell for around Php 800 to Php 1,000 when it becomes available locally.
