O+ 8.37y Price is Php 2,595, Key Specs, O+ Innovations, Actual Unit Photos
Here's another great value for money Android smartphone that I saw when I visited O+ USA's store in SM Mall of Asia CyberZone earlier this week.
With official suggested retail price of only Php 2,595, O+ 8.37y is the most affordable Android 5.1 Lollipop handset in the company's current product roster, allowing users to enjoy the benefits of a more updated version of Google's mobile operating system.
On top of that, the phone also comes with two of O+ useful innovations like SMS Import and Export, which uses Bluetooth connection to quickly transfer SMS messages and contacts from your old phone to this new device, as well as Flip-to-Silent, which instant puts the device in Silent Mode just by flipping it over, on its face.
Putting its cool software features aside, O+ 8.37y also has some cool hardware features that are quite notable given its very affordable price tag.
The handset runs on a 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor (most probably by Spreadtrum) and has 16GB of total storage out of the box, which is quite a treat for model in this price bracket. Its 512MB of RAM is perhaps the only thing about its internal hardware that will remind you that O+ 8.37y still an entry level release.
On the outside, the device flaunts a 4-inch WVGA TN display, 3.2 MegaPixel rear camera with LED flash, HD video recorder, and a VGA front cam. Nothing really to scream about -- but then, these are pretty standard for a budget Q4 2015 Android phone.
As for the phone's design, it's pretty straight-forward. No unnecessary frills and embellishments. But I do like the rounded build, which makes the phone easier the hold. If anything, it also feels very solid and durable.
Dual SIM (Regular Mini + microSIM) Dual Standby, 3G HSPA+ enabled O+ 8.37y is now available at all O+ USA Concept Stores, kiosks, and authorized retail channels across the archipelago. This model is out in just two colors, Black and White.
