Acer Iconia One 7 B1-770 Price in the Philippines is Php 3,990, Specs, Features : Budget-Friendly Android Lollipop Tablet
A couple of weeks ago, I visited SM CyberZone Mall of Asia to look for great sub-Php 5,000 gadgets that I can recommend to you guys.
Let me show you an Android slate that I think techie students and yuppies who are on a tight budget might want to take a look at.
"What's the best tablet you have that costs no more than Php 5,000?" I asked our friend at the Acer kiosk. That's him doing the 'thumbs up' in the photo above.
"This one, sir! Acer Iconia One 7 B1-770. It sells for just Php 3,990." He replied while handing me the demo unit.
In terms of design, there's nothing particularly special about the product -- other than the fact that it's pretty light and it fits in one hand, which is great for 7-inch tablet.
The back plate has a textured-finish - akin to thin ridges - that feel great to the touch.
Lacking lush metallic accents, the device has a no-non-sense look that should appeal to consumers who don't like seeing unnecessary frills or embellishments on their gadgets. Personally, I like that it's very light at 320 grams; One of the lightest 7-inch tablets I've held so far.
The area where the Acer Iconia One 7 truly shines is in terms of technical specifications -- especially when you consider its very pocket-friendly price tag.
On the outside, the slate features a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixels IPS display that looks great regardless of the viewing angle, a 2 MegaPixel camera at the back sans LED flash, HD video recorder, and a 0.3 MegaPixel front cam for selfies.
At its heart, WiFi-enabled Iconia One 7 B1-770 runs its near vanilla Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with a 1.3 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 and Mali-450 GPU based MediaTek MT8127 chipset, has 1GB of RAM for multitasking, and comes with - get this - 16GB of internal storage that you easily augment using the microSD card memory expansion slot. Not bad at all for a tablet that costs just Php 3,990, right?
For those who are wondering, Acer Iconia One 7 B1-770 does not have GSM phone functionality and it lacks a SIM card slot too for 3G mobile connectivity. Nonetheless, it should work flawlessly with your pocket WiFi device or your smartphone's WiFi hotspot feature if you want to use to browse the web, play games, or update your social networking sites on the go.
Acer Iconia One 7 B1-770 is up for purchase now at all Acer Concept Stores, kiosks, and authorized retail outlets across the archipelago. I believe it's only available in White but you can get silicone cases for the slate, which come in a variety of colors.
