Huawei Y6 Pro Has 4,000 mAh Battery and Real Metal Frame
Huawei's budget-friendly Y-Series Android smartphones sold quite well in the Philippines last year so I know that many of you will be excited to learn about this cool 2016 follow-up model from the Chinese company.
Huawei Y6 Pro is a mid-level Android handset that sports a beautiful real metal frame and a large battery pack delivering great uptime. Having those two features greatly set Huawei Y6 Pro apart from its older siblings in this line, which mostly had plain polycarbonate shells and regular-sized batteries.
Let's talk about the phone's gorgeous design first. According to Huawei, the look is inspired by water, 'sustaining you and flowing with you through every challenge the day brings.' Crafted to capture your attention at first sight, Huawei Y6 Pro features a distinctive texture design, made with 5,176 water ripple elements.
Now, as Y6 Pro's technical specifications, the device is equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display, 13 MegaPixel autofocus f/2.0 main camera, 5 MegaPixel fixed focus wide-angle selfie cam, Full HD video recorder, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability as well as 3G HSPA+ and 4G LTE support.
At its heart, the smartphone runs its Emotion-UI-flavored Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with its 64-Bit Quad Core ARM Cortex A53 and Mali-T720 GPU based MediaTek MT6735P chipset, has 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage. The combination of these innards makes this a moderately powerful release and puts it in the 2016 entry-level to midrange Android phone category.
But again, one of the highlights of Huawei Y6 Pro is its stellar uptime. Quoting the company, "You should never suffer a sudden, disappointing interruption to your fun. Huawei Y6 Pro uses a 4,000 mAh battery that ensures long-lasting performance. With the Smart Power Saving technology using eight separate power-optimization approaches, the device can work in idle mode for 24 hours, with only 10% battery charge. Able to act as a charger for other electronics, providing 15 hours of data use, 39 hours of talk time, 48 hours of heavy use time, and 90 hours of light use time, this device is there for you for the long haul."
Huawei has yet to disclose the official release date and pricing information of Huawei Y6 Pro. But I believe it should become available in key markets of the company - including the Philippines, hopefully - within the first half of this year with SRP of around Php 10,000; That's my price guesstimate for it considering the model's features technical specifications.
