LuMee Case for iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, 6s Plus Price Starts at Php 2,999 : Unboxing, Installation Tips, Quick Review, Sample Selfie Shots
Yesterday, I posted this photo on Instagram and Facebook, which shows me using a new vanity case for my Apple iPhone 6S Plus. The smartphone sleeve - which has LED bulbs lining its sides to illuminate the users' face when taking selfies - piqued the interest of some of you, enough to message me and inquire about the name and availability of the product.
For those who are asking, the name of this case is LuMee and it's now very popular in the United States as well as among celebrities here in the Philippines.
Used by popular personalities like Kim Kardashian at home and in events, LuMee Case for the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, and 6s Plus doubles as a protective sleeve and selfie-illumination tool for the Cupertino company's flagship handsets.
Here are some tips when installing the case:
1. Clean the back plate of your iPhone first. Remove grimes.
2. Make sure that there are no dusts or grains of sand on the case that can scratch your iPhone during installation.
3. Slide the iPhone sideways starting at the right panel then carefully push the other side down until you hear or feel that satisfying click.
Is it the right iPhone case for you? Well, if you absolutely love taking selfies and you want to take those shots even when there's little to no ambient light to illuminate your face - like inside bars or clubs - then you should consider getting this.
Currently, LuMee Case is exclusively available in the Philippines at all Switch Stores nationwide. I heard, though, that the product will also be up for purchase at Lazada starting in March 2016. As for the price, the model for iPhone 6 and 6s sell for Php 2,999 while the one for Apple iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus go for Php 3,199. Yeah, it's not particularly cheap -- but just think of it as an investment if your profession or passion requires you to post lots of your self-photos on your website or social networking accounts.

Here's how LuMee Case's original packaging looks.
Beware of fakes and cheap imitations! Get it only from authorized retailers.
There's not much inside; Just the case, microUSB cable, and the two-fold user manual.
Product use is pretty straight-forward. You just have to install it properly, charge it when needed, and press the sole button at the back to turn on the lights.
The entire shell is made of polycarbonate. The part that serves as a cradle for the handset is made of clear yet tough plastic.
The back plate is rather thick and is made of what feels like hard ABS plastic. If you're scared that your iPhone might 'bend' in your pocket, this case can help prevent that.
At the back, near the bottom, you'll find the depressed button for turning on the LED lights. And at the rear, you'll a microUSB port for charging the case. You can use your iPhone's travel charger with the microUSB cord that comes with the package to power up the sleeve.
LED lights line either sides of LuMee. They're quite bright and they have a yellowish tint, which gives you more natural-looking skin tone in your selfies.

There's a groove at the bottom the case for your handset's loudspeaker, microphone, lightning port, and 3.5mm audio jack.
On the right panel, there's a groove for the power button...
and on the left, there's one for the volume up and down buttons as well as the silent switch.
