Firefly Mobile Intense Power Price is Php 3,999 : Spreadtrum-Powered Phablet with 5,000 mAh Battery
Local handset manufacturer Firefly Mobile has just released a new Android smartphone that's made specifically for consumers who are on the look out for a handset with great battery life, decent technical specifications, and affordable price tag.
Firefly Mobile Intense Power's main selling point is its massive 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery pack - that's removable, amazingly enough - but it also comes with a number of other interesting features.
Design-wise, the device's shell is made predominantly of plastic but it has a metallic sheen that makes it appear rather elegant -- and perhaps more expensive than it actually is. The face has an edge-to-edge glass look that's quite common among a handful of midrange handsets these days.
The main technical specifications of this release include its 5.5-inch HD IPS OGS display panel protected by scratch-resistant Dragontrail Glass, 13 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and Sony IMX 164 sensor, 8 MegaPixel BSI front cam for selfies, Full HD video recorder, Dual SIM (via two microSIM slots) Dual Standby capability, Fast Charge support, and USB OTG capability.
At its heart, Firefly Mobile Intense Power runs its near-vanilla Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with its 1.2 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 and Mali 400 GPU based Spreadtrum SC7731 chipset, has 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of ROM that users can beef up using the microSIM card memory expansion slot supporting up to 128GB.
Having such large battery pack should be enough to give Firefly Mobile Intense Power uptime of around two days with regular use. So if you hate always having to charge your Android smartphone at lunchtime in your office just to make sure that it will stay on at night on your drive home, this is one of the smartphones that you should consider checking out.
3G HSPA+ enabled Firefly Mobile Intense Power is now available at all Firefly Mobile authorized resellers nationwide for Php 3,999. For that amount, buyers will also get free Tempered Glass screen protector for their new smartphone.

I would like to give credit to TP Friend Matthew Cuyugan for most of the photos I used in this entry.

The TP Squad has yet to check how well this handset's other features work, though -- like how fast the display registers touch response, how smooth the screen transitions are, or how well the camera performs in low light conditions. Hopefully, we could eventually review it. For now, I'm inviting those who've played with this release to leave a comment below and share what they think about the device.
