Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 Philippines Price is Php 5,490
Last March 22, 2016, Samsung Mobile formally launched its latest Galaxy smartphone in the Philippines with the break of its television commercial that appears to be made in partnership with ABS-CBN.
Donning a price tag of Php 5,490 in malls, the new Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 is - as of writing - the most affordable Android handset in the Korean Giant's product line-up this year.
As I've shared previously, the Galaxy J1 2016 runs its TouchWiz-flavored Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system with the new 1.3 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 and Mali T720 based Exynos 3475 chipset, has 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage -- making it practically twice as powerful as its popular predecessor. In comparison, the 2015 model had but a Dual Core processor from Spreadtrum, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of ROM.
Other technical specifications of this year's refresh include a 4.5-inch WVGA SuperAMOLED display - which is obviously one of its main selling points (considering the big jump from TN panel on the previous model), 5 MegaPixel main camera, HD video recorder, removable 2,050 mAh Li-Ion battery pack, and 4G LTE connectivity support - another key feature!
So am I recommending it? For Php 5,490, you can already get a bigger and more powerful LTE-enabled Android smartphone from other players - both local and international. But if you're not keen on betting your money on other brands apart from Samsung, I think you'll still find Galaxy J1 2016 well-worth every penny. I mean, the SuperAMOLED display alone is already a real treat at this price point.

The character of Kapamilya star Miss Liza Soberano in the teleserve 'Dolce Amore' is the one promoting the handset in the TV activation.

Looking at this frame, it seems that Samsung is particularly proud of this model's 2MP selfie cam with f/2.2 aperture -- and rightfully so. The company's front camera Beauty Mode is one of the best out there in evening out the user's skintone and enhancing facial features for great-looking selfies that are instantly ready for sharing on social networking sites.
