LG Gram 15 is the Lightest 15.6-inch Laptop in The World
My Macbook Pro - which runs OS X, Windows 7 via VMWare, and Windows 10 through BootCamp - got busted in transit last week when a hotel staff accidentally dropped my big backpack while he was putting it at the back of a van.
It's sad. And I've yet to have it fixed.
Right now, although I have a few other notebooks in my home office (an Alienware, a VAIO, a Transformer Book Chi, among others), I'm thinking about getting a new ultrabook to be my blogging companion when out and about and to help me with video content creation, which I've decided to do more of.
Here are my requirements for my new machine:
1. I want it powerful.
2. I want it to have a large screen.
3. I want it very light since I'm always running around.
Sounds easy right? Well, not really. Powerful laptops flaunting a large display are ever rarely light.
In fact, to remain lightweight, most ultrabooks only have 11-inch to 13-inch screens -- which should be good for most users. But for me, I think I'm going to need a notebook with a bigger display.
I've been doing my 'big-screen ultrabook' research since last week and this particular model captured my fancy.
Check out LG Gram 15.
Weighing a mere 2.16 pounds or just about the weight of Macbook Air 11-inch, LG Gram 15 is the currently the lightest laptop in the world to have a 15.6-inch display! Believe it!
On top of that, the 0.7 inch thin LG Gram 15's shell is made of a magnesium alloy that's not only durable enough to stand up to everyday life but is also sleek and elegant.
Framed by an ultra-thin bezel, LG Gram 15's 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display provides exceptional color reproduction that you can view from nearly any angle.
Users also get a good set of ports: 1 HDMI (Standard), 1 USB 3.0 Type-C, 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, 1 microSD card slot, Headphone Out, RJ45 Ethernet (USB Type C port with RJ45 gender), and DC-In.
LG Gram 15 features a full-sized keyboard and number pad with island-style keys for enhanced productivity and content-creation on-the-go. The trackpad - supporting gestures for Window 10 - is also sizable and provides enough traction with the fingers.
Under the hood, the notebook is powered by a 6th Generation Intel Core i7 or i5 Processor, has up to 8GB RAM, features Intel HD Graphics 520, and comes with 512 GB of Solid State Drive (SSD). The combination of these internal hardware make LG Gram 15 a powerhouse ultrabook that's good enough for gaming and video editing.
LG Gram 15 is powered by a 2-Cell 4,495mAh / 34.61 Wh Li-Polymer battery that can deliver up to 7 hours of uptime with regular use.
Donning an official SRP of $1499.99 USD, LG Gram 15 is now available in all of the company's key markets around the world.
If only we have an authorized reseller here in the Philippines - ensuring full-service-and-parts warranty, I'd be more than happy to give this one a go. I'm badly smitten.
