Flash Plus 2 Price in the Philippines is Php 6,990, Release Date is on May 31, 2016
'Flash', which was formerly but a line of smartphones from French electronics company Alcatel, is now a full-fledged internet-based mobile devices company running its own operations, altogether separate from its 'mother corporation'.
'Internet-based' means that Flash distributes its devices mainly via online channels - specifically, Lazada - and markets its products primarily via social media and web partners including bloggers.
Launched just a few hours ago at the Penthouse of Lepanto Building in Makati City, Flash Plus 2 is the company's the follow-up to widely successful maiden release from 2015.
The 2016 iteration comes with several notable enhancements when placed vis-a-vis its predecessor; Most obvious of which is its svelte shell replete with real metal that looks far more elegant compared to the predominantly polycarbonate exterior of the model from last year.
The screen is still 5.5 inches IPS but it is now more crisp and clearer as it has a higher resolution at 1080 x 1920 pixels or Full HD versus just 720 x 1280 pixels or HD on the previous release.
Likewise, although the 13 MegaPixel main camera of Flash Plus 2 appears to be same as that of the older model, it's actually a lot better in a number of ways.
To be specific, the rear shooter now integrates PDAF and contrast focusing, which results in just 0.1s of focal alignment that lets users snap photos faster. Also, users can now enjoy the benefits of RealTone Dual LED flash that gives portrait subjects more natural looking skintone.
Additionally, the 5MP selfie cam in front now comes with Soft LED flash that definitely comes in handy in low to zero lighting conditions. Although the resolution was lowered, users can now easily fit more of their friends in every groufie as the front-facing cam already has a wide-angle lens.
There are two variants of Flash Plus 2. The more affordable one has 2GB of RAM complemented by 16GB of expandable storage while the more pricey model has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. Flash has yet to announce the availability of the latter but the former is already slated for commercial launch on May 31, 2016 via Lazada.
Both variants are powered by the powerhouse 64-Bit Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset that has eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2GHz and a Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. This is quite an improvement from the 64-bit Octa Core 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex A53 and Mali T760 MP2 GPU based MediaTek MT6752M processor that powered the first Flash Plus.
Another useful new feature that this new release has is its fingerprint scanner that lets the user quickly unlock the device with but a touch of a finger on the home button.
As for the battery, well, it's now fast-charging. The handset is equipped with a TI BQ25896 fast-charging chip and 9V/1.67A fast-charging specifications, which gives you 50% charge but plugging the device to an electical outlet via microUSB to USB cable for just 30 minutes!
"Flash has been consistent in introducing unique features that satisfy the needs and wants of its consumers. Now that our new flagship phone is in place, we will be more able to complement the lives of the young consumers who look for nothing but unparalleled convenience and refinement," shared Mr. Lei Zhang, Flash Philippines Country Manager.
Available in two elegant colors, namely Luna Silver and Venus Gold, Flash Plus 2 will don an official suggested retail price of only Php 6,990 when it becomes available on LazadaPH starting Tuesday next week, May 31, 2016.

Combined, the above-mentioned internal hardware give Flash Plus 2 an Antutu Benchmark Score in the range of 41,000 to 43,000. Here, we got 41,578, which well reflects the relatively good gaming and overall touch performance of the device.

For audiophiles, you'll be glad to know that Flash Plus 2 features Hi-Fi value-retained earphone acoustics, high volume speaker effects, and MIX music editing function to deliver an immersive sond experience.
