O+ Sonic Price is Php 4,395, Specs, Features : Affordable LTE Android Smartphone
Looking for an LTE-enabled Android smartphone that's both reliable and affordable? Check out O+ Sonic, which recently saw a major price cut courtesy of the good folks at O+ USA.
Previously donning a price of Php 6,395, this model now goes for just Php 4,395 (Yup, that's a whopping Php 2,000 less!), putting it at arm's reach of more Pinoy consumers.
I chanced upon this unit when I visited CyberZone in SM San Lazaro last Friday.
"O+ Sonic is our most affordable LTE smartphone now, sir," the kind O+ sales staff told me while I was taking photos of the device.
He added, "[It gives great value for money because of its technical specifications.] Smooth ang performance nito bukod sa LTE-enabled na. [And it's also good-looking.]"
Flaunting a no-frills design language, O+ Sonic has a straight-forward look that should appeal to those who don't like too many metallic accents or unnecessary embellishments on their handsets.
As for the key specs, O+ Sonic sports a crisp and clear 5-inch HD IPS display, a 5 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash at the back, 2 MegaPixel selfie cam in front, Full HD video recorder, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, (again) 4G LTE support, USB On-The-Go, and a removable 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack delivering 8 to 10 hours of uptime on a full charge with regular use.
Out of the box, O+ Sonic runs a slightly customized version of Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system incorporating O+ software innovations including Peace to Selfie, which allows you - as the subject - to prompt the camera to snap a photo just by doing the peace sign, and the popular O+ Air Shuffle that lets you browse photos and jump from one music track to another just by waving your hand in front of the display.
At its heart, O+ Sonic is powered by a 64-Bit Quad Core 1GHz ARM Cortex A53 and Mali-T720 MP2 based MediaTek MT6735P processor, has 1GB of RAM, and comes with 8GB of internal storage that's easily expandable via the dedicated microSD card slot. The combination of these innards makes this release capable of running slightly specs-intensive apps and games and of delivering a decent social networking, HD movie-viewing, and web-browsing experience.
Available in just one color: Blue, O+ Sonic is now up for purchase at all O+ Concept Stores and Kiosks across the country.

The camera module at the back protrudes a bit, though, so I would advise you to get a silicone case or window case when you purchase your unit.
