O+ Venti LTE Price is Php 6,395 : Specs, Unboxing, Actual Unit Photos, Initial Impressions
Trusted electronics company O+ USA has just released a new budget-friendly phablet that's ideal for stylish young professionals as well as students who demand a large display on their smartphones.
The natural follow-up to the successful O+ Grande from 2015, O+ Venti LTE (which also has a name alluding to a drink size in cafes) is a beautiful and lightweight 6-inch phablet that's easy on both the eyes and the wallet.
Let's do a quick unpacking.
Alright. Now, let's take a look at O+ Venti LTE's design and set of technical specifications.
The first time you see the device in the flesh, the first thing you'll notice is how large its display is.
It's a massive 6-inch IPS panel with qHD or 540 x 960 pixels resolution; I kind of wish that O+ USA had given it a higher-res screen but I guess that's one of the ways that they were able to keep the price of this model down while still giving it enough compelling selling points. Nonetheless, because it's IPS, colors and details don't look washed out even when you're looking at the panel from a non-direct angle.
Above the screen, you'll find the 5 MegaPixel selfie cam, which I find to be one of the stronger features of this model. When paired with a good app for taking self-portraits like YouCam Perfect, it delivers great-looking selfies that are ready for sharing on social networking sites.
The phablet's shell is made predominantly of plastic; Along with the non-removable 3,000 mAh battery, this design choice made O+ Venti LTE one of the lightest 6-inch phablets that you can get in the market currently.
Although made of polycarbonate, the device's exterior looks and feels elegant -- thanks to the flex-free construction and the metallic sheen.
My unit is in Rose Gold, which I really like. I think it's very eye-catching and unique. This model is also available in shiny Grey.
The 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash at the back is pretty decent. It's not the best shooter you can find on a 2016 O+ USA smartphone but it can certainly be relied on for snapping clear outdoor shots or even indoor photos when there's ample light.
Perhaps the most notable or distinguishing design element of the O+ Venti LTE is this circular accent framing the camera module. I've already seen something like it on a Microsoft Lumia smartphone in the past -- but nonetheless, I still find it quite interesting.
Under the hood, O+ Venti LTE runs is powered by Quad Core 1.3 GHz Spreadtrum SC9832 chipset that incorporates four ARM Cortex A7 cores and a Mali 400MP2 GPU, has 1GB of RAM, and comes with a total of 40GB of storage space (that's 8GB of ROM plus the 32GB microSD card that ships with the phone).
Frankly, in terms of raw power, you'll find other O+ USA releases that will easily beat the Venti 4G. For instance, there's O+ Xfinit and O+ 360 Extreme, which are both powerhouse models in their own right. That said, O+ Venti LTE - as I've shown you in this entry - has its own strong points or pros when compared to those models.
The phablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop right out of the box replete with O+ software innovations including the popular Air Shuffle - letting you snap photos and jump from one music track to another just by waving your hand in front of the display, Flip to Silent, Call and Type - that lets you write down notes while you're on a call, and Doodle Control - which allows you to launch applications without having to fire up the display just by drawing characters on the screen.
Dual SIM (Dual microSIM) Dual Standby 4G-enabled O+ Venti LTE is now available at all O+ USA Concept Stores, kiosks, and authorized retail partners nationwide. You can get it for only Php 6,395 and as I've shared, it comes in two elegant colors.
Is it the right smartphone for you? If you're a fan of O+ USA and you're looking for an aesthetically attractive big-screen LTE phablet that's not too heavy and is easy on the budget, you might want to check out this release. Give a unit a test run at an O+ USA store near you.

The unit comes in this redesigned and re-imagined retail package. Not your typical, boring paper box, this one features an unconventional design that clearly reflects the company's willingness to try out new things and embrace changes.
At the bottom, the company listed down the model's key features and specs.
The outer shell is made of paper while the container inside is made of a rubber-polycarbonate composite material.
Check out the swivel-type design.
Lifting the cover, we are greeted by the unit.
Pulling the handset tray up, we see all the included accessories and documentation.
The complete retail package includes the smartphone itself, the travel charger with 1A output, headphones with extra in-ear silicone buds, microUSB to USB connector cable, manual, after-sales service info card, and free screen protector. O+ USA has also generously included a free 32GB SanDisk microSD card to boost the storage space of the phablet to 40GB.
This sticker protects the phone's glass face during shipment and - with these printed icons and descriptions - gives the buyer an idea of what the device has to offer.
