Lenovo Vibe K5 Note Actual Unit Photos, Exclusive First Look Video
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is now available at all Lenovo Concept Stores and authorized retail channels across the country for Php 11,999. For that amount, you already get the complete package plus a free Theater Max VR headset and remote controller. Believe it.
This upper midrange phablet was officially launched by Lenovo Philippines via an exclusive media event held at the Shangri-La Hotel at the Fort in BGC on Wednesday, July 27, 2016.
According to our friends from Lenovo, Vibe K5 Note has the following main selling points:
1. Premium design and build.
2. Big and crisp screen for gaming and entertainment
3. Good technical specifications (including imaging capabilities and internal hardware)
4. Dolby Atmos audio enhancement
5. VR Technology support
Let's talk about the phablet's build first.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Note's rim and back plate are made of aluminum, which gives the handset the look and feel of corporate sophistication. The top and bottom parts of the rear, however, are made of plastic - perhaps to improve signal reception.
As for the display, Lenovo Vibe K5 Note sports a massive 5.5-inch Full HD IPS panel that looks bright, brilliant, and crisp regardless of the viewing angle. It's stunning.
At the back, below the camera module, the device flaunts a fingerprint scanner that lets the user unlock the smartphone with but a touch of a finger. I've tried it and it's super fast.
In terms of imaging capabilities, Lenovo Vibe K5 Note has a 13 MegaPixel autofocus main camera at the back and an 8 MegaPixel front cam for taking selfies.
I find the main camera to be very reliable especially when used in well-lit settings. It's hardly powerful as the shooter of my Lenovo Vibe Shot (of course) but it certainly won't let you down when you need to quickly snap a yummy food plate or a gorgeous landscape in front of you.
Now, as for the 8 MP front cam, it's stellar. Lenovo's Beauty Mode is one of the best I've tried on a selfie shooter.
Under the hood, Lenovo Vibe K5 Note runs its Vibe-UI-skinned Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with an Octa Core 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 and Mali-T860MP2 based Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10, has 3GB RAM, and comes with 16 GB of expandable storage. These internal hardware work together to deliver an above average gaming, multitasking, and overall touch experience.
Great for audiophiles, Lenovo Vibe K4 Note has Dolby Atmos software technology that gives the user full control of the sound quality that he or she wants to hear in every music track. There are pre-set audio modes to choose from but you are also free to boost or downplay each sound element using the dials and toggles.
As I've said, for Php 11,999, you can already get the complete Lenovo Vibe K5 Note retail package complete with free ANTVR Theater Max VR headset and remote controller. The headset is made of plastic, has soft cushion at the back to make it comfortable to wear, and has spring and rubber stoppers to securely hold the handset.
The remote controller, on the other hand, lets you navigate the phone's interface and to click on-screen buttons while you have the device on the VR headgear, in front of your face, which is great when you're playing supported games. The controller also lets you snap photos and click on icons and buttons without having to touch the phablet.
Lenovo's Theater Max mode - which you can enter simply by long pressing the power button and clicking on VR Mode - lets you turn any movie into a VR clip that you can watch using the provided headset.

The real metal rim is CNC-prepared, making it more visually appealing.
