Cherry Mobile Flare S5 Power Sells for Php 7,999, Has 6,050 mAh Battery Pack!
Like many of you, battery size is one of the first specifications that I check when purchasing a mobile device. I mean, what good is a beautiful smartphone with great internal hardware if it easily runs out of juice, right?
That's why Cherry Mobile Flare S5 Power immediately captured my fancy when it was formally unveiled at the company's Light Up Your Desire event held at The City of Dreams Manila on Monday night, October 17, 2016.
Powered by a ginormous 6,050 mAh battery pack, this new Flare Premium model can certainly deliver more than twice the uptime of many competing Android phablets with the same screen size.
"Cherry Mobile Flare S5 Power can stay on for up to three days with mobile data turned on and with regular use. And what's great about this smartphone is that despite having a very big battery, it's not that thick or bulky," Mr. Lonson Alejandrino - CM's Product Marketing Manager - told me in our conversation after the launch.
So if you hate always carrying a powerbank and charging cable or you no longer want to charge your smartphone in your office by lunchtime just to make sure that it will stay on in the evening on your way home, you might want to check out this cool release.
Apart from having stellar battery life, Cherry Mobile Flare S5 Power also has more decent technical specifications considering its relatively affordable SRP.
The handset is equipped with a 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS Screen, 13 MegaPixel autofocus main camera with Dual LED flash, 5 MegaPixel front cam for selfies, Powerbank Functionality via Reverse Charging, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, and 4G LTE support.
At its heart, this powerhouse phablet runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 operating system with a 64-Bit 1.3 GHz Octa Core MediaTek MT6753 processor incorporating a Mali-T720 graphics chip, has 3GB of RAM, and comes with 16GB of internal storage that's expandable via microSD card slot. This set of innards combine to give this model an Antutu Benchmark Score in the range of 34,000 to 35,000.
Design-wise, as you can see in these photos, the handset looks rather elegant as it has a metallic rim running down its sides and a sleek back plate with brushed crisscross patterns underneath the high-gloss finish.
Donning an SRP of Php 7,999, this model will be up for purchase at all Cherry Mobile concept stores, kiosks, and authorized retail partners within this month, October 2016.
