Cherry Mobile Flare S5 Price is Php 5,699, Has USB Type C Port, Fingerprint Scanner, 700 MHz 4G LTE Band Support
Formally introduced at the company's 'Light Up Your Desire' event held at The City of Dreams Manila on Monday night, October 17, 2016, Cherry Mobile Flare S5 - as its name clearly suggests - is the follow-up to the highly successful Cherry Mobile Flare S4 from 2015.
Given the immense popularity of its direct predecessor, this model truly has a lot to live up to. Good thing, it's a legit Flare Premium release that looks fairly attractive on the outside and comes with more than decent technical specifications inside considering its price.
Let's start with specs.
CM Flare S5 is equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display, a 16 MegaPixel BSI PDAF (Phase Detection AutoFocus) rear camera with LED flash, 8 MegaPixel front cam for selfies, non-removable 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, and 4G LTE 700 MHz band connectivity support.
At its heart, this handset runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with its 64-Bit 1.3 GHz Octa Core MediaTek MT6753 processor that's complemented by 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can easily be augmented using the microSD card slot supporting up to 64GB.
CM Flare S5's imaging and connectivity features as well as its solid set of internal hardware are enough to make it a very strong contender in its price bracket -- but Cherry Mobile wasn't keen on taking any chances. To make it even more enticing to consumers, the company also gave it two additional value-added features that can further improve the user experience: a USB Type C Port supporting faster data syncing and a Fingerprint Scanner for quickly unlocking the device with but a touch of a finger.
As for its design, Cherry Mobile Flare S5's 2.5D Curved Glass face as well as its real metal and metallic accents and elements make the handset look quite elegant and, frankly, more expensive than it actually is. Some users, however, have pointed out that the smartphone has rather thick screen bezels -- but personally, it's not enough to turn me off.
Cherry Mobile Flare S5 will hit store shelves within this month, October 2016, donning the above-mentioned price tag. It's a tad more expensive than the Flare S4 from last year but considering everything it offers, I believe this fresh model still offers great value for money.
