Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus : Five Reasons They'll Be Worth The Wait
Are you an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus owner who has chosen to pass on this year's update and just wait for the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus?
I know I've posted several entries egging all Apple fans to upgrade to the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus -- but I won't be the first to say that your decision is not wise.
Frankly, I also have a feeling that the 2017 iPhone models will be amazing -- and I have five reasons why.
1. 10th Anniversary of the iPhone
In 2017, it will finally be a full decade since the Cupertino company released the first generation iPhone. And given that Apple loves celebrating milestones (I mean, just read their press releases and watch their product feature videos), I'm sure they are now preparing to deliver something special for all iPhone fans next year.
2. It's time for a major design revamp.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out or notice that Apple iPhone 6, 6s, and 7 as well as iPhone 6 Plus, 6s Plus, and 7 Plus all share the same aluminum shell and overall footprint. The flagship handset is due for a design overhaul and if Apple won't give that to consumers next year, I bet many of their fans won't find it awfully hard to jump ship.
3. Samsung will try to bounce back strong and Apple knows it.
This year, the Korean Giant lost more than $3 Billion USD following the unfortunate recall and cancellation of the exploding Galaxy Note7 phablet. In 2017, Samsung will definitely try to reinstate and reinforce its image as a top handset maker by releasing flagship level smartphones - most likely the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Edge, and the follow-up to the Note7 - that will lead the industry in terms of design, build, technical specifications, and software features. If the next iPhone models were to have a fighting chance against these strong comeback handsets from its erstwhile rival, then Apple must make sure its next smartphones are stunning enough to have everyone looking.
4. Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are already amazing.
Although they look and feel largely identical to their predecessors, the 2016 iPhone models actually have stellar main selling points that make them worthy upgrades. I particularly love the fact that they are highly water resistant and that their imaging capabilities are quite simply at the highest level in the mobile scene currently. If Apple can incorporate these enhancements into the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and even further improve on them, the 2017 iPhones will definitely be something to watch out for.
5. Apple also needs to bounce back strong.
Last April 2016, Apple saw the first ever decline in its quarterly sales and revenues for the past 13 years! If the Cupertino company won't do anything about it, then such drop could be a start of a profit slide or downturn that can last for months if not years -- as we've seen in the sad stories of other giants that came before Apple. But the American tech giant still has time to turn things around and to create a better story for the brand moving forward. They just have to make sure that the next version of their top-selling product - the iPhone - will be amazing enough to save them.
I always say that I'm on the side of consumers so I try not to be a fanatic of any particular electronics company. But I guess I'm way too transparent for you guys not to notice that I love Apple. It's true -- and I'm really hoping that 2017 will be a better year for the brand. Heck, here's to hoping that next year will be a better one not just for Apple but also for all companies and all of us.
