Lenovo ThinkPad T470 Price, Specs, and Release Date, Officially Announced!
Here's a fun fact about TechPinas.com: I created it using a ThinkPad -- to be exact, a ThinkPad Z61m Titanium Limited Edition.
It's true. I'm a big, big fan.
Ever since the early 2000's - when I first encountered a unit in the flesh, I've been in love with ThinkPads.
I love these machines because:
1. They are built like tanks.
2. Their keyboards are quite simply the best out there.
3. They are super easy to upgrade.
4. They are low maintenance.
5. They are just reliable.
And what's cool is that the newer models still bear the legendary genes of their predecessors -- from the boxy no-nonsense looks right down to actual stellar performance.
On Wednesday - March 15, 2017, Lenovo Philippines officially launched the powerhouse ThinkPad T470, which is a workhorse made specifically for the corporate environment.
Sporting a spill-resistant keyboard and a MIL-SPEC certified ultra-tough shell, the highly configurable Lenovo ThinkPad T470 runs Windows 10 Pro Signature Edition with a 7th Generation Kaby Lake Intel Core processor - up to Core i7-7600u and features Intel HD Graphics 620 GPU, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB of SSD storage or 2TB HDD, HD 720p camera, as well as a battery pack that delivers up to 18 hours with regular use.
There are three display options:
1. 14-inch HD (1366 x 768) non-touch
2. 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS, non-touch
3. 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS, touch
As for ports and connectivity, T470 has HDMI, Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type C), USB 3.0 x 3, Ethernet, SD Card slot, FPR, dTPM2.0, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Headphone/ Mic, and WiFi 802.11ac.
With dimensions of 336.6 x 232.5 x 19.95 mm and weighing 3.48 lbs, Lenovo ThinkPad T470 is now available in the Philippines via the official distribution channels of the company with price tag starting at Php 62,990 -- becoming more expensive as you choose higher specs for your unit.
Is it the right notebook for you? This notebook should be ideal for tech savvy users, highly productive professionals, and on-the-go creatives who are familiar with the legend of the ThinkPad and who demand utmost reliability from their gadgets.
Around middle of last year - 2016, I bought a second-hand ThinkPad T430 via OLX and the unit really helped rekindle my romance with this mythical laptop line. That said, I'm certainly looking forward to getting my hands on the T470; And off hand, I expect nothing but the best from it.

The only downside to them is that they are very expensive. Then again, given the quality of the product and the guaranteed after-sales support that go with them, I'd say ThinkPads are well worth every penny you'd spend on them.
