Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Will Be Announced Globally on February 25, 2018

Korean Giant Samsung Mobile has just started sending out media invites for the imminent announcement of their two 2018 flagship Android smartphone models.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be officially unveiled in Barcelona, Spain via the company's Unpacked Event set to take place on February 25, 2018.

In some territories, pre-order for the 2018 flagship Galaxy models will start on February 26, 2018 and units will be shipped on March 16.

As in previous years, Samsung is remaining tight lipped on details about their new high-end Galaxy models until it's time for their official debut.

Nonetheless, many supposed "insiders" have already posted purported images and technical specifications of the S9 and S9+

Back in December 2017, reliable serial leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer of @OnLeaks posted photos of what claimed to be the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ on his official Twitter account.

Based on what we've been hearing so far, the Galaxy S9 - supposedly shown in the image above - will have a single rear camera at the back, a re-positioned fingerprint scanner - which means that it won't have on-screen finger sensor, and a 5.8-inch Quad HD SuperAMOLED Curved 18.5:9 Infinity Display.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S9+ will have a larger screen at 6.2-inches across and a Dual Rear Camera module similar to that of the Galaxy Note8.

According to 'Samsung experts', what makes these two top-of-the-line Galaxy smartphones truly special compared to the ones that preceded them is that they can record Full HD 1080p videos at 480 frames per second, which allows for smooth slow motion clips. It's a new feature that will definitely delight vloggers and video creators everywhere.

As for internal hardware, it is said that these two handsets will share the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 flagship processor, 6GB of RAM, as well as the same internal storage space starting at 64GB.

Based on all the leaks so far, it appears that S9 and S9+ will offer minimal improvements coming from the best-selling Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ both on the outside and inside the shell. That said, I'm still excited to see what these two new devices have to offer apart from what we've been told. Maybe they're actually more special than what all these rumors make them appear to be. Can't wait to see them in the flesh!
