Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro 2018 Philippines Price is Php 7,490, Specs, Features
Samsung Mobile Philippines has just released a new Android smartphone model under its popular J-Series Galaxy line.
J-Series handsets have been a big hit here in the Philippines ever since they landed here largely because of their affordable price tags as well as their good selfie-centric features.
Priced at just Php 7,490, Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro 2018 builds upon the success of its popular predecessor from last year and offers cool enhancements that should delight entry-level consumers.
Looking at Samsung's promotional materials for this model, it's clear that its 5-inch qHD 540 x 960 pixels SuperAMOLED display is its main selling point. This brilliant and energy-efficient screen type - made by Samsung - used to be only found on the more expensive S-Series and A-Series Galaxy smartphones.
Sure, this phone's SuperAMOLED panel has far lower resolution compared to what's on pricier models but at least the user will still get to enjoy the fringe benefits.
According to Mr. Nico Gonzales, Marketing Manager for Core Smartphones, Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp., “The Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro is designed for consumers who wish to add a pop of color in their lives. It’s the perfect phone for vibrant personalities that seek quick escapes through their phones.
He added, "The Galaxy J2 Pro’s screen aims to give them just that. With its vibrant colors and clearer visuals, it’s going to give users’ a smartphone viewing experience like no other.”
Other notable features of the Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) are its 8 MegaPixel f/2.2 rear camera, which should perform relatively well in low light settings, and the 5 MP f/2.2 front cam that comes with Soft LED flash allowing the user to snap clear and crisp selfies even when there's little ambient light.
As for the design and build, the handset has an aluminum mid-frame that's sandwiched by the glass face and the curved polycarbonate back plate that can be removed to access the 2,600 mAh battery pack, the Dual microSIM slots, and the dedicated microSD card slot.
One identifying design characteristic of this model is the black, oblong accent at the back that houses the camera module.
If there's one thing about Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro 2018 that immediately gives away its "budget smartphone" proposition, it would have to be its very modest set of internal hardware. I mean, it only has a Quad Core Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of ROM. It's by no means terrible in this regard -- but you can certainly get similarly priced 2017 and 2018 handsets by Filipino and Chinese brands that have better specs.
